Objective: To understand the relationship between overweight and obesity and the quality of life of children and adolescents, and to explore the influence of parents on the quality of life of overweight and obese children and adolescents,so as to facilitate relevant departments to formulate targeted measures to promote the quality of life of overweight and obese children and adolescents. Methods: In this study, from March to June 2019,a convenient sampling method was used to select three primary schools and three junior high schools in a certain district of Shenyang City. Then, the entire group surveyed all children and adolescents seven to sixteen years old,and each child and adolescent surveyed one parent.A total of 3284 respondents were recruited to conduct physical measurement and quality of life questionnaire surveys.One-way analysis of variance was used to compare the quality of life of normal, overweight and obese children and adolescents. The influence of parents on the quality of life of overweight and obese children and adolescents was determined by one-way analysis of variance or independent sample t-test.Dunnett t text was used for comparison between groups.Pearson correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between parents and the quality of life of overweight and obese children and adolescents.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to study the multi-factors of life quality of overweight and obese children and adolescents. Results: Compared with the normal group, children and adolescents in the overweight and obese groups had lower scores in terms of overall quality of life, living environment and exercise ability, with statistically significant differences.Overweight and obese children and adolescents had lower quality of life scores as they age.The children of obese parents had lower quality-of-life scores than those of normal-weight parents, and the difference was statistically significant. There were statistically significant differences among overweight children and adolescents with different parents' educational level in the total score of life quality, the three factors of social psychological function, living environment and satisfaction with life quality,as well as the five dimensions of teacher-student relationship,parent-child relationship,self-concept,activity opportunities and selfsatisfaction. In addition to the six dimensions of teacher-student relationship, negative emotion, homework attitude, life convenience, sports ability and other dimensions, there were statistical differences in the total scores, scores of various factors and dimensions of the life quality of obese children and adolescents with different parents' educational levels. The life quality of children and adolescents with overweight family monthly income differs in the two factors of total score, living environment and life quality satisfaction,as well as the four dimensions of self-concept,life convenience, activity opportunities and selfsatisfaction.Children's age, parents' education level, family's monthly income and parents' physical health had a significant impact on the overall quality of life of obese children and adolescents. Conclusion: A negative impact on the quality of life children/adolescents with overweight and obesity was observed. The quality of life of parents was positively correlated with the quality of life of children/adolescents with overweight and obesity.Quality of life of obese children/adolescents is influenced by age, parents' educational level and family income.
