Objective:to explore and analyze the effect of individualized health education on elderly hypertensive patients living in rural areas of Jianghua County,Hunan Province.Method:147 elderly patients(age ≥ 60 years old)who were firstly diagnosed with hypertension from June 2017 to February 2018 were selected as studying subjects from the outpatient and inpatient department of Daxu Town Central Health Center in Jianghua County.The selected subjects were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group which were both given routine general nursing and drug treatment and also monitored for 12 months.While the experimental group was only given individualized health education and knowledge on hypertension besides general nursing and treatment.According to a self-designed questionnaire survey,the data of treatment compliance,blood pressure control and quality of life of patients in the experimental group and the control group were collected.The data before and after a 12-month intervention in the experimental group and the control group were compared horizontally,and the data before and after a 12-month intervention in the experimental group and the control group were compared longitudinally.The independent sample t-test statistical analysis method was used to analyze and explore the effect of individualizedhealth education on elderly hypertensive patients living in rural areas of China.Result:1、 After a 12-month individual health education intervention,the blood pressure of the elderly hypertensive patients in the experimental group was significantly lower than that before intervention and the treatment compliance and quality of life were significantly improved,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2、After a 12-month individual health education intervention,the blood pressure of the elderly hypertensive patients in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group and the treatment compliance and quality of life in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).3、After 12 months,There was no significant change in treatment compliance,blood pressure control and quality of life in the control group.Conclusion:As for elderly hypertensive patients in rural areas of Jianghua County,Hunan Province,comprehensive individualized health education can not only improve the treatment compliance,quality of life and blood pressure control but also more actively promote to know more preventive methods and knowledge related blood-pressure.Therefore,those patients will develop healthy lifestyle to stabilize blood pressure and improve the quality of life.
