Objective A comparative analysis of domestic OMOM-I and imported Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy system was conducted from the perspective of clinical performance to provide a scientific basis for the clinical application of capsule endoscopy.Methods 30 subjects were equally divided into two groups: examination group I(n = 15),which swallowed imported PillCam SB2 capsules first and domestic OMOM-I capsules after an interval of one day;examination group II(n = 15),which swallowed domestic OMOM-I capsules first and imported PillCam SB2 capsules after an interval of one day.At the end of the examination,the clinical performance evaluation indicators of each capsule were collected and classified as OMOM-I Pillcam SB2 group for comparative analysis.Measurement data were analyzed by t test or fisher exact probability test;enumeration data were analyzed by fisher exact probability test.Results1.Effectiveness index: All capsules in OMOM-Ⅰ group and Pillcam SB2 group completed the whole small bowel examination under normal working conditions,and there were no significant difference in the total running time in vivo,the running time in small intestine,stomach,the time of excretion in vitro and the positive rate of diagnosis(P > 0.05),but the upper,middle and overall image clarity in OMOM-Ⅰ group was lower than in PillCam SB2 group(P < 0.05).2.Safety and reliability indicators: In all capsules of OMOM-Ⅰ Pillcam SB2 group,no permanent shutdown in the body,entrapment in the body,retention in the body,intermittent shutdown occurred,and almost all of them were excreted with the feces within 24 h after the start of the examination.However,picture loss was only present in the OMOM-I group(P > 0.05).3.Functional indicators: OMOM-Ⅰ PillCam SB2 has FICE electronic staining function(P < 0.05),real-time monitoring function and intelligent image screening function(P > 0.05),but PillCam SB2 has positioning function only;however,both of them do not have intelligent reading function.In terms of image processing efficiency,the image processing time in the OMOM-I group(66.83 ± 14.40 min)was significantly longer than that in the PillCam SB2 group(40.03 ± 14.13 min)(P < 0.05).4.Operational indicators: There was no "inconvenience" or "very inconvenience" in the portability of software operation in the OMOM-I Pillcam SB2 group,and the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05);there was a significant difference in the portability of record carrying and the comfort of record wearing in the OMOM-I Pillcam SB2 group(P < 0.05).Conclusion1.Both OMOM-I and Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy systems completed the whole small bowel examination without any adverse events related to the examination;although there was picture loss in the OMOM-I capsule endoscopy system,the safety and reliability of the examination were consistent between OMOM-I and Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy systems.2.There was no significant difference between OMOM-I and Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy system in the examination completion rate,positive rate of small intestinal diagnosis,total running time and running time in the stomach and small intestine;however,the image sharpness of the upper,middle and overall small intestine of the former was lower than that of the latter,suggesting that the "effectiveness index" of OMOM-I capsule endoscopy system was lower than that of PillCam SB2 capsule endoscopy system.3.Both OMOM-I and Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy systems have monitoring function,intelligent screening picture function and no intelligent reading function;Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy system has "positioning function",and its "FICE electronic function" is superior to OMOM-I capsule endoscopy system,suggesting that OMOM-I capsule endoscopy system is inferior to Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy system in "functionality".4.The "image recorder portability" of OMOM-I is consistent with that of Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy system,but the image recorder portability and comfort of the former are better than those of the latter,suggesting that the operability of OMOM-I capsule endoscopy system is generally better than that of Pillcam SB2 capsule endoscopy system.
