A Study On The Dependence Of Video Games On Inpatients

The problem of wideo game dependence in hospitalized children is a problem that has been paid less attention to in current research.After more than 2 months of observation in the M department of Wuhan E Hospital,the author found that 90%of children had relied on video games during their hospitalization.What is the reason behind this appearance?How to prevent children from relying on video games during hospitalization?Through various methods such as investigation and field interviews,this article studies the needs of inpatients and the characteristics of the hospital environment,and analyzes the main ideas of social work intervention in video games for inpatients.This study found that children's environmental needs,care needs and companionship requirements have been greatly enhanced during hospitalization.Especially during the treatment of children,the existing conditions in the hospital have a greater impact on the children's activity space and behavioral ability.Due to major restrictions,the children's physical and psychological aspects will be frustrated,which will lead to the continuous expansion of the rigid demand of related parties.At the same time,the hospital environment has brought great pressure to the children's families.Parents are taking care of the hospitalized children because of the difficulty of taking care of the sick,the difficulty of taking care of work and medical affairs,the limited ability to care for the children,the compassion for the children,etc.,intentional or unintentional indulgence of hospitalized children's dependence on video game behavior.Eventually,hospitalized children rely on video games to become the worst option that a patient's family can afford to bear.Although this choice has a slight loss and impact on the hospitalized child itself,it can overcome the current main contradictions and problems.For medical social work,effective intervention and solving the problem of children's video game dependence is an opportunity and direction,which can become a way to help maximize the benefits of the parties.Provide services in a scientific,sustainable,and efficient manner,continuously reduce the negative pressure of hospitalization on children's families,provide strong support to their parents or guardians,and provide more beneficial activities for hospitalized children.Partial reduction or even elimination of video game dependence in hospitalized children.By exploring and simulating the mechanism behind the problem,this paper deeply discusses the methods of medical social workers involved in hospitalized children's dependence on video games,and explores new working methods,new auxiliary models and new practice spaces for medical social work.
