Objectives:To investigate the outpatients amount and treatment income of various sleep disorders in Chinese hospitals,and to analyze the differences among hospitals of different levels and types as well as the differences of departments in hospitals.Methods:Gathering related information by using Wechat,and 233 effective questionnaires were obtained,and were analyzed and compared by basic statistical methods.Results:1.The most common sleep disorders in various medical institutions are:insomnia,sleep-related breathing disorders and circadian rhythm sleep disorders.2.Besides,there are differences in the outpatients amount,treatment income of sleep disorders and its proportion of general income between tertiary hospital and non-tertiary hospital and among different departments in hospitals.The treatment income of insomnia,sleep-related breathing disorders,and circadian rhythm sleep awakening disorders are higher in tertiary hospitals than in non-tertiary hospitals,and the outpatients amount for insomnia in tertiary hospitals is significantly higher than in non-tertiary hospitals.3.General hospitals have a smaller outpatients amount for other sleep disorders than specialist hospitals.Regarding the proportion of drugs,general hospitals have significantly lower proportion of drugs for sleep-related breathing disorders than specialist hospitals.4.Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Sleep Centers,Department of Psychology and Neurology Department have significantly more insomnia outpatients amount than Respiratory Department,Otolaryngology Department,Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other departments in hospital.The number of sleep-related dyspnea outpatients amount in Otolaryngology Department was significantly higher than in Department of Psychology.The number of outpatients amount for other sleep disorder by the psychiatric department was significantly higher than that of the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Sleep Centers,Respiratory Department,Neurology Department,Otolaryngology Department,Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other departments.The treatment costs of insomnia by Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Sleep Center,Department of Psychology,Neurology Department are significantly higher than Respiratory Department,Otolaryngology Department,Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other departments.In terms of sleep-related breathing disorders,the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Sleep Centers was significantly higher than other departments.In terms of Parasomnia,the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Sleep Center and Psychiatry Department were significantly higher than the other departments.The proportion of drugs in Department of Psychology and Neurology Department for insomnia is significantly higher than in the other departments.In terms of Proportion of drugs,Respiratory Department for the sleep-related breathing disorders is significantly lower than in the other departments.Otolaryngology Department for Circadian sleep arousal disorder is significantly higher than that of other departments.For other sleep disorders,the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Sleep Center was significantly lower than that of Psychiatry Department and Neurology Department.Conclusions:The sleep medicine industry in China has begun to take shape,and the diagnosis and treatment of sleep diseases in different hospitals and clinical departments are gradually standardized.However,compared with the developed countries in Europe and America,the sleep medicine industry in China is still immature and has a large development space.It is necessary to standardize the training of sleep medicine industry talents and expand the sleep medicine talent team to promote the development of sleep medicine industry.
