Part 1 Risk factors for recurrent intussusception in childrenObjective:The aim of this study is to provide a basis for early diagnosis and treatment of recurrent intussusception and reduction of the complications of intussusception by exploring the risk factors of recurrent intussusception in children. Methods:Collecting a total of 912 cases of intussusception addmitted to Children's Hospital of Soochow University from January 2011 to December 2018 and dividing them into recurrence and non-recurrence group according to whether intussusception recurred after treatment. In addition,Collecting general data, clinical data and imaging data of two groups of cases.First,Comparing the differences between the two groups data by univariable analysis and then including data which has significant differences into multivariable logistic regression to analyze the risk factors related to intussusception recurrence. Results:In all cases studied, there were 228 cases in the recurrence group and 684 cases in the non-recurrence group.According to univariable analysis,it showed these factors that older than 1 year, have clinical symptoms include abdominal pain or crying, vomiting, bloody stool,no palpable abdominal mass, combined with pathological lead points, and the position of the mass(right side of the abdomen)are related to recurrence of intussusception.Including factors, which were significant in the univariable analysis, into the multivariable logistic regression,it showed that older than 1 year(OR=4.426,P<0.001)and combined with pathological lead points(OR=3.381,P<0.001)are risk fators of recurrence of intussusception, those with symptoms of vomiting(OR=0.264,P<0.001)or bloody stool(OR=0.504,P=0.003)were less likely to have recurrence of intussusception. Conclusions:Our study found these factors that older than 1 year, combined with pathological lead points were independent risk factors of recurrence of intussusception in children PART 2 Risk factors for intussusception with pathologicalpoints in childrenObjective:To provide a basis for early diagnosis and treatment of intussusception with pathological lead points and reduction of the complications of intussusception by exploring the risk factors related to the intussusception with pathological lead points in children. Methods:Collecting a total of 912 cases of intussusception addmitted to Children's Hospital of Soochow University from January 2011 to December 2018.In addition, the general and clinical data of these cases were collected which including gender, age, clinical symptoms, abdominal signs, recurrence, imaging data, surgical data, operation time, hospitalization time after operation. Then dividing these cases into primary and secondary groups according to whether there were combined pathological lead points with them or not to compare and analyze the differences between the two group.Univariable analysis was used firstly to analyze the related risk factors of intussusception with pathological lead points, and then including factors which has significant differences into multivariable logistic regression to analysis the independent risk factors of intussusception with pathological lead points. Results:In all cases studied, there were 822 cases in the primary intussusception group and 90 cases in the intussusception with pathological lead points group.Univariable analysis result showed that there were statistically differences(P<0.05)between the two groups in these factors that older than 1 year, recurrence of intussusception and the mass position(left side of the abdomen)(P<0.05).Including these factors into the multivariable logistic regression for further analysis,it showed that older than 1 year(OR=2.975,P<0.05),recurrence of intussusception(OR=2.140,P<0.05),the mass position(left side of the abdomen)(OR=4.706,P<0.05)are independent risk factors of intussusception with pathological lead points. Conclusions:Our study found these factors that older than 1 year, recurrence of intussusception, and the mass position(left side of the abdomen)are independent risk factors for predicting the presence of intussusception with pathological lead points.
