Spinal diseases are increasingly becoming younger and more urbanized.Doctors often observe the two-dimensional images with the naked eye to determine the position and size of spinal lesions,which greatly reduces the accuracy rate.The 3D reconstruction of vertebral computed tomography(CT)images allows doctors to judge the information of the entire lesion more intuitively.Therefore,designed and implemented a 3D reconstruction system of medical images based on the Visualization Toolkit(VTK)in medicine becomes particularly important in image processing.This article mainly includes the following contents: First,input the vertebra CT image in DICOM,RAW and other formats data and can output data in twodimensional format such as JPG,and then use image filtering,image sharpening,histogram equalization and other methods on the input image to pre-processing of the data to reduce the shortcomings such as high noise an d low contrast in the original CT image of the vertebrae.Then,the traditional Ray Casting algorithm is improved by using the bounding box algorithm,light jumping and early light termination technology to reduce projection,the number of rays and resampl ing of invalid voxels to improve the efficiency of 3D reconstruction,and use the improved algorithm to perform 3D reconstruction on the preprocessed image data.Finally,the image interaction operation can be performed on the read and reconstructed images,that is,can read the two-dimensional CT images are,display the distance between the two points of the image,and zoomed in,zoomed out,translated,and rotated the reconstructed 3D image in real time.Finally,combined with VTK and MFC,a Spine GUI system is designed and implemented to complete the above functions.Through the realization of tests,the system designed in this paper can meet the 3D reconstruction requirements of medical image processing and achieve the expected experimental goals.
