Objective:By investigating the influencing factors of sarcopenia in geriatric inpatients of Nanjing Hospital of Chinese Medicine, studying the correlation between the relevant influencing factors and senile sarcopenia, exploring the protective factors and risk factors of senile sarcopenia, and analyze Related influencing factors between TCM syndrome types. Methods:Taking the geriatrics department of Nanjing Hospital of Chinese Medicine as the survey site, and the inpatients who met the eligibility criteria from May 2019 to December 2019 as the target group.Data were collected through the questionnaire, physical measurement, muscle mass, strength, activity function measurement and Chinese medicine Four clinic information. The body mass analyzer was used to measure the skeletal muscle mass of the extremities, and according to the calculation formula:SMI=ASM/height2(kg/m2),the corresponding body mass index of each respondent was obtained. The grip strength was measured by a grip meter to assess the muscle strength, and the 6-meter walking test was used to assess the physical function. The sarcopenia was comprehensively diagnosed according to the AWGS diagnostic criteria.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlations between sarcopenia and age,weight,BMI,6-meter walking speed, and grip strength.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze senile sarcopenia and smoking history, drinking history, different frequency of diet and exercise. The related factors of sarcopenia were analyzed by using Logistic regression analysis. Finally, analyze the factors related to the difference between different syndromes of sarcopenia.Results:1)A total of 177 subjects were included in the results of this study. There were 33 cases in the sarcopenia group and 144 cases in the non-sarcoma group. The TCM classification group was divided into 10 cases with liver-kidney deficiency group,13 caseswith spleen-stomach deficiency group,10 cases of spleen-stomach damp-heat group.2)The total prevalence of sarcopenia was 18.6%,male prevalence 17.78%,female 20%.No statistically significant difference between men and women(P=0.656).3)Compared with the non-sarcopenia group, the sarcopenia group is older, the BMI index, dominant grip strength,6-meter walking speed, skeletal muscle mass ASM,and skeletal muscle index SMI are all lower than the non-sarcopenia group.4)There was no statistical difference between smoking or drinking and the prevalence of sarcopenia. The frequency of meat, fish, and milk intake varies, and the prevalence of sarcopenia varies.Sarcopenia has the lowest prevalence with a frequency of 4-7 days/week.There was a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of sarcopenia at different periods of aerobic exercise and resistance exercise every week.5)Age is positively related to sarcopenia, while weight,BMI,6-meter pace, grip strength, increased exercise duration,,increased intake of dietary meat, fish, and milk are negatively related to sarcopenia.6)Binary logistic regression analysis of sarcopenia and related factors in the elderly, and found that age and smoking are risk factors for sarcopenia, and high grip strength and high frequency of fish intake in the diet are protective factors for sarcopenia, all of which are statistically significant.7)Statistics differences were presented in BMI,6-meter pace, muscle mass index, weekly aerobic exercise duration, weekly resistance exercise duration, dietary meat, fish, milk intake frequency of the differernt TCM group. No statistical differences were presented in the age and dietary egg intake frequency of the three TCM group. Conclusion:Sarcopenia is a multifactorial disease, age is a risk factor for sarcopenia, however high grip strength and high frequency of fish intake in the diet are protective factors for sarcopenia. The incidence of elderly sarcopenia is high, and nutritional intervention and exercise intervention are helpful to delay the progression of sarcopenia and improve the poor prognosis.
