ObjectiveTo understand the status of positive psychological capital of epileptic patients;to explore the status of perceived social support and simple coping style of epilepsy patients and the correlation with positive psychological capital;to explore the influencing factors of positive psychological capital of epileptic patients,so as to provide effective reference for further positive psychological nursing intervention of epileptic patients, and then improve the quality of life.MethodIn this study,146 patients from neurology ward and outpatient epilepsy center of a third class hospital in Dalian were randomly selected from May 2018 to September2018 by convenient sampling method. The researchers collected data through questionnaires.First, they asked patients for informed consent and asked them to sign the informed consent form. The research tools included the self-designed epilepsy patients' general situation questionnaire, the Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire(PPQ),the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ)and Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS).The data was input by Excel software, and the analysis was carried out by SPSS 22.0 statistical software, including descriptive statistics,t-test,variance analysis, regression analysis and other methods, with ? = 0.05 included and ? = 0.10 excluded as the rule.Results1 The total score range of positive psychological capital in 146 epileptic patients was 88-141,with an average score of(109.55±9.57).The average score of resilience was(26.47±3.27),the average score of self-efficacy was(27.32±6.35),which was low,and the score of optimism dimension was(27.29±4.77)and hope dimension was(28.47±4.48).2 The total score of perceived social support in epileptic patients was(50.72±7.98).Friends support(13.42±4.11),social support(15.88±4.03),family support(21.42±3.32).The total score of simple coping style was(40.76±4.22).Compared with the domestic norm, the score of positive coping(20.29±3.84)was lower, while the score of negative coping(20.47±2.47)was higher.3 The results of single factor analysis showed that, the level of positive psychological capital in patients with different age, marital status, family economic status, level of out-of-pocket medical expenses, intensity and frequency of seizures were statistically significant(P<0.001),the total score of perceived social support and all dimensions were positively correlated with positive psychological capital(r=0.452,P<0.001),and the total score of simple coping style was positively correlated with positive psychological capital(r=0.200,P<0.05),positive coping style was positively correlated with positive psychological capital(r=0.389,P<0.001),while negative coping was negatively correlated with positive psychological capital(r=-0.270,P< 0.001).4 The results of multivariate analysis showed that age, seizure severity, out of pocket medical expenses, monthly family income, positive coping style and social support of epileptics entered the regression equation, which accounted for 51.0% of the total variance.Conclusion1 The positive psychological capital of epilepsy patients was in the middle level,in which the level of resilience was the lowest and the level of hope was the highest.2 The degree of perceived social support of epilepsy patients was medium, the support degree of family was the highest, while society and friends was low.Epilepsy patients tended to choose negative coping style, less chose positive coping style. The epilepsy patients who got more social support and tended to respond positively had a higher level of positive psychological capital;the lower the level of perceived social support and the epilepsy patients who tended to respond negatively, the lower the level of positive psychological capital.3 The main influencing factors of the level of positive psychological capital include age, seizure intensity,out-of-pocket medical expenses, monthly family income, positive coping style and social support. The medical staff in clinical work should pay close attention to the positive psychological capital state of epilepsy patients, encourage patients to adopt positive coping style, and call for full mental and material support for epilepsy patients.Starting from the internal and external influencing factors,a comprehensive and effective positive psychological intervention program is formulated to help epileptics increase their positive psychological capital and improve their quality of life.
