Effect Of “Limaigujin” Acupoint Catgut Embedding On Airway Hyperresponsiveness In Asthma

Objective: To observe the effect of acupoint catgut embedding therapy of "Li Mai Gu Jin" on airway hyperresponsiveness in patients with asthma.Methods: 72 patients were randomly divided into two groups,36 in the experimental group and 36 in the control group.The experimental group was treated with the combination of acupoint catgut embedding and budesonide formoterol(xinbico),once every two weeks,for a period of 1 month.The control group was treated with xinbike only for one month,once every two weeks.To observe the changes of stimulant(acetylcholine)cumulative measurement,TCM syndrome score and act score before and after treatment.Results: 62 cases were completed in practice,including 31 cases in the catgut embedding plus Western medicine group and 31 cases in the western medicine only group.In terms of reducing the airway hyperresponsiveness,the embedding plus Western medicine group was better than the simple western medicine group(P < 0.01);in terms of improving TCM syndromes,the embedding plus Western medicine group was better than the simple western medicine group(P < 0.05);in terms of act score,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).No adverse reactions such as cough,asthma,chest distress or skin allergy were found in the two groups during the treatment,and no significant abnormality was found in pulmonary function after the treatment.Conclusion: the effectiveness of acupoint catgut embedding therapy of "regulating pulse and fixing gold" in the treatment of bronchial asthma has been further confirmed.Its mechanism is related to reducing the airway hyperresponsiveness of asthma patients to a certain extent,which provides the clinical experimental basis for the mechanism of acupoint catgut embedding.The operation is simple,the curative effect is accurate,and there is no toxic side effect.It is worthy of further application in clinical practice.
