Purpose: Performing a gait analysis on patients with unilateral total hip arthroplasty during rehabilitation and guiding early and subsequent rehabilitation.Method: 43 patients with initial unilateral total hip arthroplasty were selected as the experimental group, and 16 healthy subjects with similar physiological characteristics were considered as the control group.Based on the global FO difference between the surgical and healthy sides of the subject, subjects were divided into three groups: decreased group(<5 mm),restored group(±5 mm)and increased group(>5 mm).The BTS SMART-Clinic 3D gait analysis system was used to detect the kinematics and kinetic parameters of the lower limbs. The BTS SMART Analyzer was used to reveal the parameters of the pelvis, hip, knee, and ankle joints. Results: There was no statistical difference between the groups of gender, age, surgical site and BMI.In kinematic parameters, both the “increased” group and the “decreased” group were smaller than the control group, and there was no statistical difference between the “restored” group and the control group. In the range of motion of the pelvis, hip joint and knee joint, the “increased” group and the “decreased” group had different degrees of reduction compared with the “restored” group and the control group. The peak moment of hip flexion in the “increased” and “decreased” groups was also smaller than that in the control group with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The peak of the hip adduction angle in the “increased” and “decreased” groups was greater than that in the control group with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion: For patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty, reconstruction of global femoral offset is very important for the recovery of function after surgery.According to preoperative measurement, reconstruction of global femoral offset as accurately as possible during operation is the key to achieving good outcome after arthroplasty and avoiding limp. Moreover, further research is needed in the future for larger amounts of samples and longer-term follow-up.
