ObjectiveTo analyze the changes in quality of life in children with obstruct ive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)before and after surgery.MethodFrom June 2017 to December 2017,age≤5 years old,due to sleep snoring, mouth breathing, mainly in the otolaryngology clinic of Hunan Children’s Hospital,Polysomnography(PSG)confirmed children’s OSAHS,appointment In 164 patients with adenoid-tonsillectomy(A&T),all cases were mild, moderate, and severe. The OSAHS disease-specific quality of life survey(OSA-18)was filled out by the guardian for the first time be fore surgery. The second OSA-18 scale was completed by telephone follo w-up from June to September. Two OSA-18 scales were used to indicate preoperative and postoperative outcomes.Paired-sample t-test,chi-square,o ne-way analysis of variance, and LSD analysis were used to investigate t he improvement of quality of life after A&T in children with younger O SAHS.Result1.This study included 164 children,118(72%)were males and 46(28%)were females. The approximate proportion was 3:1,the average ag e was 3.2 years, and the course of disease was about 6 months to 2 yea rs.The average duration was 1.18±0.67 years. The body mass index(B MI)was 12.5 to 17.79 kg/m~2,and the average BMI was 15.22±1.32 kg/m~2.2.Preoperative and postoperative OSA-18 scale total score, sleep dis order(S),physical condition(P),mood disorder(E),daytime function(D),degree of influence on guardian(C)The total scores of the dimensions were analyzed by paired-sample t-test.The postoperative scores were<p reoperative scores, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The total scores of the mild, moderate, and severe OSA-18 scale and the total scores of the five dimensions were analyzed by paired-samp le t-test.The postoperative scores were compared with the preoperative s cores, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The varianc e analysis was used to compare the difference(7)d(8)between the three gro ups.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The LSD metho d was used to compare the two groups,mild<moderate<severe(P<0.05).4.The total score of OSA-18 scale and the total score of five dime nsions of allergic rhinitis,Merged Otitis Media With Effusion and no co mplications were analyzed by paired-sample t-test.The postoperative scor es were preoperative scores.Significance(P<0.05).Variance analysis com pared the difference between the three groups(d),except for the poor m ood of the difference(P>0.05),the difference of the remaining dimensio ns was statistically significant(P<0.05),using the LSD method for pairw ise comparison,to the guardian Influential dimension:combined with aller gic rhinitis<no complications(P<0.05);residual dimensions:combined with allergic rhinitis<no complications,Merged Otitis Media With Effus ion<no complications(P<0.05).Conclusion1.The overall quality of life of children with OSAHS is significantl y improved after A&T.2.The quality of life of children with mild, moderate, and severe O SAHS improved after A&T.The degree of improvement was mild to mo derate to severe.3.The quality of life of patients with allergic rhinitis,Otitis Media With Effusion and no complication was improved after A&T.The improv ement degree was:combined with allergic rhinitis<no complications;co mbined with Otitis Media With Effusion<no complications.
