Objective:To evaluate its safety and effectiveness,we observed the improvement of postoperative symptoms of mTLIF by external application of shentongzhuyu ointment. Methods:In this study,40 female patients who underwent Single-segment,unilateral improvement of mTLIF in lumbar spine in the Spine surgery of Jiangsu Second Chinese Medicine Hospital during April 2019 to March 2020 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group of 20 patients.Patients in both groups were given routine treatment after the operation, such as rehydration support, prevention of infection, cough relieving, expectorant treatment, stomach protection and so on.In the observation group, postoperative treatment was conducted by applying shentongzhuyu ointment to both sides of the longitudinal wound of the waist(pay attention to avoid wound infection caused by contaminating wound),and the dressing was changed every other day until the wound was removed(The second day after surgery, the first wound dressing was changed, and the stitches were removed two weeks later). The improvement of postoperative symptoms and the degree of absorption of subcutaneous edema were compared between the two groups by using the visual pain analog score(VAS),Japanese orthopaedic association(JOA)score and Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)on day 10 after surgery to evaluate the treatment results. Results:VAS score and JOA score were respectively performed on preoperative, the 3rd,5th days,1 st and 2nd weeks after the operation, and MRI was performed on postoperative 10 days to observe the area of subcutaneous edema at the operative segment.Preoperative VAS score and JOA score showed no significant difference(P>0.05).VAS score and JOA score showed no significant difference on postoperative day 1(P>0.05).VAS scores of the two groups decreased gradually on the 3rd,5th days,1st and 2nd weeks after the operation, and the scores of the observation group decreased more than those of the control group(P<0.05).The score of JOA in both groups increased, and that of the observation group increased more(P<0.05).The difference was statistically significant. On MRI,the area of local subcutaneous edema signal in the two groups was smaller than that in the control group ten days after the operation(P<0.05).The difference was statistically significant, indicating that the postoperative symptoms of the patients in the observation group were relieved more quickly and the efficacy was better.SPSS25.0 statistical software was used for data analysis,The measurement data were expressed as mean±standard deviation(x±s),Paired sample t test was used for comparison of intra-group differences, and independent sample t test was used for comparison of inter-group differences.P?0.05 means the difference is statistically significant. Conclusion:The external application of shentongzhuyu ointment has a certain effect on improving postoperative symptoms of TLIF,which can accelerate the absorption of local soft tissue and Subcutaneous edema after the operation, thus relieving postoperative symptoms of back pain, numbness, weakness and limited mobility of both lower limbs...
