Objective:To research the clinical effect of abdominal massage on post-stroke depression,by observing the degree of depression, neurological function, daily living ability and the improvement of TCM syndromes. To explore the possible therapeutic mechanism of abdominal massage on post-stroke depression, and provide clinical ideas for better treatment of this disease by massage. Methods:Sixty post-stroke depression patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group. In the end,59 patients completed the treatment,30 in the control group, and 29 in the treatment group. The control group was given sertraline orally once a day,50 mg each time. The treatment group was combined with abdominal massage on the basis of the control group, and the massage was performed once a day,6 times a week for a total of 2 weeks.Patients were treated with sertraline antidepressants continuously for 6 weeks. The Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),the Daily Life Activity Ability Scale(ADL),and the TCM Syndrome Scale were assessed before,2 weeks after treatment and 4 weeks after the end of massage. The obtained data were statistically analyzed using SPSS26.0 statistical software.Result:Compared with before treatment, the patients in the two groups were significantly improved in HAMD,NIHSS,ADL and TCM Syndrome Scale 2 weeks after treatment and 4 weeks after the end of massage, and all had statistical differences(P<0.05).Comparing the groups 2 weeks after treatment and 4 weeks after the end of massage, the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05),and the two scores of "appetite loss" and "constipation"in the TCM syndrome scale were statistically different(P<0.05);The treatment group was significantly higher than the control group in terms of clinical effectiveness and TCM syndrome effectiveness 2 weeks after treatment and 4 weeks after the end of massage(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Abdominal massage combined with sertraline in the treatment of post-stroke depression patients has better efficacy than sertraline alone, and the effect is significant.2.Abdominal massage combined with sertraline in the treatment of post-stroke depression significantly improved the patient's "appetite loss" and "constipation" symptoms.3.Abdominal massage,as a method of external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine,is safe in clinical operation and easy for patients to accept. It may be used to treat post-stroke depression through the "brain-gut axis".
