Professor Liang Wenzhen's Experience In Distinguishing And Treating Intermenstrual Bleeding

Objective: Through the computer data mining system,this project analyzed the dialectical thinking and prescribing habits of professor Liang Wenzhen in a retrospective way.To summarize her clinical experience and academic ideas in the treatment of intermenstrual bleeding,there lies the possibility to inherit and carry forward her intelligence further,making it reliable to treat the intermenstrual bleeding with traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: This study collected Professor Liang Wenzhen's medical records in the treatment of intermenstrual bleeding from October 1,2018 to December 31,2019 in the first affiliated hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,by using the computer data mining system which provided by the first affiliated hospital of this university's information center.To analyze these medical records retrospectively,the general situation,symptom,prescription and drugs were exacted first.The data input was followed up by manual typing into “Old Chinese Medicine Data Mining System SPSS22.0” so that the data can be processed by frequency analysis.Using SPSS Clemen-tine 11.1 software with its Aprior module,the analysis of medical correlation was carried out.With the “Complex Network System” to examine the core prescription to intermenstrual bleeding,it can be summarized eventually about professor Liang Wenzhen's clinical experience and academic thoughts in the treatment of intermenstrual bleeding.Result: With the corresponsive 63 samples and their 133 diagnoses,the following results were obtained:1.According to the seasonal statistics,there were 32 visits in spring(24.06%),28 visits in summer(21.05%),37 visits in autumn(27.82%),and 36 visits in winter(27.07%).The number of patients was distributed equally in each season,suggesting small seasonaldifference.2.Statistical analysis was conducted on the age of patients,The youngest patient was19 years old and the oldest 49 years old.People who tend to have this symptom of intermenstrual bleeding from age 22-28(39.06%)and 29-35(31.25%).3.During menstruation,patients with intermenstrual bleeding are often accompanied by blood clots,abdominal pain,lumbago,breast distension,diarrhea,and headache.Other symptoms has been recorded including diarrhea,facial acne,anus sank pain and insomnia.4.In 133 cases of professor Liang Wenzhen's medical records in the treatment of intermenstrual bleeding,there were 99 types of Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),which were adopted 2288 times altogether.The TCM which has been used more than100 times are: cortex moutan 129 times(Frequency 5.64%),radix paeoniae rubra 124times(Frequency 5.42%),turmeric 122 times(Frequency 5.33%),leech 110 times(Frequency 4.81%),salvia miltiorrhiza 108 times(Frequency 4.72%),ground beetles108 times(Frequency4.72%),speranskia tuberculata 107 times(Frequency 4.68%),ginger pinellia 107 times(Frequency 4.68%),and cattail pollen 104 times(Frequency4.55%).5.From high to low of their usage frequency,different drugs used by professor Liang Wenzhen to treat intermenstrual bleeding are: activating blood stasis drugs,heat-clearing drugs,phlegm-resolving drugs,wind-damp-dispelling medicinal,hemostatic drugs,tonic drugs,digestant drug,astringent medicine,qi-regulating drugs,calming liver winddrugs,tranquilizing drugs,interior-warming drug,damp-clearing drug,drugs for relieving Exterior Disorder,aromatic damp-resolving drug and purgating drug.6.The prescriptions used to treat the intermenstrual bleeding were: Huazhen decoction(110 times),Zhilin decoction(19 times),Tongluo decoction(14 times),and Yangjing decoction(4 times).7.From high to low,the frequencies of Four-gases of TCM are: warm drugs(frequency:695),cold drugs(frequency: 492),cool drugs(frequency: 27),hot drugs(frequency:14).8.The frequencies of five flavor drugs of TCM from high to low are: bitter(1342),spicy(1202),sweet(447),salty(354),sour(102),astringent(91),and mild drugs(13).9.The frequencies of meridian distribution of TCM are: liver meridian(1837),spleen meridian(710),lung meridian(650),stomach meridian(560),heart meridian(522),kidney meridian(368),pericardium meridian(183),large intestine meridian(94),bladder meridian(73),gallbladder meridian(22),and the small intestine meridian(2).10.A combination of two drugs often used by professor Liang Wenzhen in the treatment of intermenstrual bleeding are: cortex moutan and red paeonia;cortex moutan and radix curcumae;red paeonia and radix curcumae;leech and red paeonia;leech and cortex moutan;leech and radix curcumae;leech and woodlouse;salvia miltiorrhiza and red paeonia;salvia miltiorrhiza and cortex moutan;woodlouse and red paeonia;woodlouse and cortex moutan;salvia miltiorrhiza and radix curcumae;woodlouse and radix curcumae,etc.11.The drugs of the core prescription to treat intermenstrual bleeding are: red paeonia,cortex moutan,salvia miltiorrhiza,radix curcumae,cattail pollen,garden balsam stem,woodlouse,hirudo,rhizoma pinelliae,spina gleditsiae,euonymus alatus,corydalis tuber,malt,burreed,tripterygium wilfordii,blood clam shell,leonurus.Conclusion: Through data mining and research,it is common to see that intermenstrual bleeding often occurs in the period of reproductive age,and there is no obvious seasonal difference.Professor Liang Wenzhen often used Huazheng decoction to treat intermenstrual bleeding.In terms of TCM categories,her main prescription intends to promote blood circulation and to remove blood stasis,of which warm and cold drugs are used mostly among four-gases;bitter,acrid and sweet drugs are frequently used among flavors;liver,spleen's meridian medicaments are often used,among which the liver's is the most.Commonly used combination of drugs are for activating blood stasismedicine,clearing heat,and cooling blood medicine.The core prescriptions analyzed by complex network are mostly composed of drugs for activating blood circulation and removing stasis.From the findings,it can be seen that professor Liang believes that the majority of the intermenstrual bleeding is blood stasis syndrome.Its clinical treatment is mainly to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis.She advocates paying equally attention to nurse viscera,qi and blood.Not only these three should be attended,but also the organs wellness including liver and spleen.In addition,professor Liang believes that the treatment of intermenstrual bleeding should focus on the preventative treatment of non-bleeding period: to treat disease from the root along with daily care.
