Objective: To investigate the value of X-ray barium meal and high frequency ultrasound in the diagnosis of congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis in neonates.Methods The imaging data of 118 children with suspected congenital pylorus hype rtrophy diagnosed and treated in the people's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonom ous Region from January 2013 to October 2019 were analyzed retrospectively.The application value of high frequency ultrasound and X-ray upper gastrointestinal rad iography in the diagnosis of newborn congenital pylorus hypertrophy was compared.Results The sensitivity of X-ray upper gastrointestinal radiography was 84.6%,the specificity was 67.5%,the accuracy was 78.8%,the positive predictive value was 83.5%,and the negative predictive value was 69.2%;the sensitivity of color Dopple r ultrasound was 86.4%,the specificity was 72.5%,the accuracy was 83.9%,the p ositive predictive value was 86.4%,and the negative predictive value was 78.3%.There was no significant difference between the two methods(P>0.05);the sensitiv ity of combined diagnosis was 86.4% The sensitivity was 97.5%,the specificity wa s 89.5%,the accuracy was 94.9%,the positive predictive value was 95.1%,and th e negative predictive value was 94.4%,which were significantly higher than those of upper digestive tract X-ray or color Doppler ultrasound alone(0.748,0.717).W hen the thickness of pylorus muscle layer was between 4.0mm and 5.8mm,the dia gnostic accuracy of high frequency ultrasound was higher than that of X-ray upper gastrointestinal radiography,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion High frequency ultrasound and X-ray upper gastrointestinal contrast exa mination have their advantages and disadvantages in the diagnosis of congenital pylorus hypertrophy in neonates.The combination of the two examinations can improv e the diagnostic accuracy of the disease.
