| The endoscopic treatment of esophageal strictures or stenosis(ES)has been reported to be the most frequently used strategy in children and adults.Improvements in endoscopes and accessories have supported an increase in the number of patients who are conservatively treatedwith endoscopic dilations(ED)rather than surgicaltreatment.Esophagostenosis infants is ordinarily benign with a variety of etiological spectrum, which can be divided into two categories,i.e.congenital and acquired ones.In order to investigate and diagnosis and treatment of Congenital Esophageal Hypertrophic Stenosis(CEHS),thirteen cases of CEHS cases were retrospected the clinical procedures and follow-ups who were carried out examination, diagnosis and treatment with endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography in the middle and lower parts of esophagus, during the period of 2017to 2020.The results showed that the characters of esophageal stenosis in infants could be identified using endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography. For the muscular hypertrophic stenosis, the narrow parts could be successfully relieved to 12-15mm in diameter by using endoscopic balloon dilatation. It can be concluded that the endoscopy balloon dilatations safety and effective, feasible for the diagnosis and treatment of CEHS occurred in the lower part of esophagus in infants with no excessive damages in infants and without complications.Related with the clinical practice above, the researches of endoscopic dilation in pediatric esophageal strictures worldwide were reviewed. |
