Objective:To investigate the prevalence of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation in Xinjiang.and to analyze the related risk factors of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods:Using retrospective method,a total of 7310 elderly people(≥60 years old)were selected from the epidemiological survey conducted in Xinjiang. The prevalence of cognitive impairment in the elderly with or without atrial fibrillation was counted and the epidemiological characteristics were analyzed. Then analyze the risk factors of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation.Results:1.The detection rate of cognitive impairment in elderly atrial fibrillation group was 18.27%,and that in non-atrial fibrillation group was 9.19%.The detection rate of cognitive impairment in elderly atrial fibrillation group was significantly higher than that in non-atrial fibrillation group(P<0.05).2.Stratification by age,in the 60~69-year-old group, the detection rate of atrial fibrillation group was significantly higher than that of non-atrial fibrillation group(P<0.05).3.Stratification by gender, the detection rate of cognitive impairment in females was significantly higher than that in males in both groups(P<0.05).4.Stratification by educational level, among the elderly people with illiteracy and primary school education, the detection rate of atrial fibrillation group was significantly higher than that of non-atrial fibrillation group(P<0.001).5.Subgroup analysis shows, the head circum--ference of the cognitive impairment subgroup(54.87±1.61cm)was lower than that of the cognitive normal subgroup(55.60±1.90cm),and the choles--terol(4.32±1.24mmol/L)was higher than that of the cognitive normal subgroup(3.93±1.53mmol/L)(P<0.05).Multivariat Logistic regression analysis showed that the cognitive function of patients with atrial fibrillation with high education level was higher than that of patients with low education level(OR=10.138,95%CI:3.545-28.991),while occupation had a certain influence on cognitive impairment in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation(OR=0.140,95%CI:0.044-0.440).Conclusion:After excluding the history of stroke, the incidence of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation was still higher than that in patients without atrial fibrillation;in the elderly population ≥ 60 years old, patients with low age with atrial fibrillation were more likely to develop cognitive impairment than those without atrial fibrillation;high level of education has a protective effect on the cognitive function of elderly patients with atrial fibrillation;occupation has a certain effect on the occurrence of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation.
