| Purpose:The clinical curative efficacyof percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy(PTED)in the treatment of Single segmentlumbar disc herniation is observed in different age groups. Methods:Data of different age patients, which were treated by PTED to cure Single segmentlumbar disc herniation, was collected from March 2015 to June 2016.65 cases were selected and divided into two groups, young group(age<50 years)and elderly group(age 50 or higher).Low back pain Japanese Orthopaedic Associationscores(JOA)score, visual analogue score(VAS score)and postoperative improvement of the Macnab standard are used to compare two groups in different time point, such as operation time, preoperative and postoperative 3 days,3 months and 6 monthsafter operation. The data is statistically analyzed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of PTED in the treatment of patients with single segment lumbar disc herniation. Results:The surgeries of 65 patients were successfully completed.Through the analysis and comparison of statistical data, the 2 groups are not significantly different in gender, lesion segment, lumbar disc herniation and Course of disease(>0.05).The operation time of the2 groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in JOA score and VAS score between the 2 groups before operation(P>0.05).The JOA score and VAS score of the 2 groups compared with preoperativewere significantly improvement after operation for 3 days 3 and 6 months. There were significant differences in JOAscore and VAS score between the 2 groups before and after operation, and score in the same group(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of the 2 groups according to the modified Macnab criteria are 97.1% and 86.7%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2 cases of injury of the dural sac during operation and was mainly caused by epidural adhesion. The injury can be cured by intraoperative be with gelatin sponge, prolonged bed time and postoperative symptomatic treatment after surgery without incision infiltration fluid.Conclusions:1.The study of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic treatment of different age groups of patients with single segment lumbar disc herniation have achieved satisfactory clinical efficacy.2.Through the comparative analysis of data of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomythe clinical curative effect of treatment in young adults patients with LDH is better than the elderlypatients with LDH.3.Percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic surgeries should be strictlygrasped the indications.Clinical application should focus on the treatment of young adults with LDH. |
