Suicide has become a prominent public health problem and social problem in the world at present.The problems caused by suicide every year have been a heavy burden for individuals,families and even the country.According to the statistics from the World Health Organization,there are nearly 800,000 people died for suicide in 2015 worldwide,which making suicide the second leading cause of death after road traffic accidents.At the end of the last century,there are bout 287,000 people died of suicide each year in China,accounting for 6%of all deaths,which made suicide the fifth leading cause of death in China at that time.Rural suicide rate and urban suicide rate are also different.In the early 21 st century,the rural suicide rate was about twice that of urban suicide.And young men and the elderly are the major suicide groups.This study takes the suicide problem of Dulong people in Dulongjiang as the research object,and collect data with the method of literature research and field investigation.Consult the literature first,then conduct field investigations to learn about local people's livehood,culture,and social environment through interviews with village leaders and villagers;Understand their suicide,suicidal ideation,suicide Personal attitudes,life goals,coping styles,social support,emotional status,attitudes toward social change,and family status through in-depth interviews with 55 participants who attempted suicide or suicidal ideation.Analysis the main reasons and risk factors behind the Dulong suicide problem through the combination of macroscopic background and micro-personal characteristics from the perspective of psychology and sociology.This study found that the main cause of suicide in the Dulong was family disputes,followed by bereavement/loneness,physical illness,economic difficulties,and disputes with others.Suicides in Dulongjiang have increased in recent years,and the increase in suicide rate is closely related to the rapid social transformation.There are several affecting factors of the suicide problem of the Dulong people below:meaninglessness,emptiness,alcoholism,conflict of values,conflict between desire and reality,relative deprivation,lack of coping skills,social support,faith,spread of suicide,contact with death events,etc.
