Objective:To observe the clinical efficaciousness of modified Zigui oil in the therapy of dry rhinitis,to explore the pathogenesis of traditional Chinese medicine for dry rhinitis, and to provide data support for the application of modified Zigui oil in hospital preparations. Methods:A total of 120 patients with dry rhinitis who met the inclusion criteria in the outpatient clinic of otolaryngology of Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences were selected.According to the random digital table and random concealment, patients were allocated into therapeutic group(group A),positive control group(group B1),and negative control group(group B2)2:1:1.They were given modified Zigui oil, compound peppermint oil,and sesame oil, respectively, with 2 drops per nostril each time, twice a day.The total course of treatment in the 3 groups is 1 week.Observe the quantitative scores of symptoms and signs before and after treatment in 3 groups of patients, visual analog scores of overall symptoms of nose, dry nose, nasal pruritus, nasal pain, stuffy nose, time for onset of drugs, recurrence after 4 weeks and adverse reactions.Results:1.Total effective rate:The overall effective rate was 88.14%in the treatment group A,72%in the control B1 group, and 53.33%in the control B2 group.2.Symptoms and signs scoring comparison:There were no statistically significant differences in the pre-treatment scores of main symptoms, secondary syndromes, physical sign, total scores, and scores of individual symptoms and signs between groups(P>0.05).At 1 week of treatment, the difference between the scores of the main syndrome, physical sign scores, total scores, dryness of the nose, blood in the nasal mucus, and mucosal erosion symptoms in Little's area were statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference between the main scores, physical sign scores, total scores, dryness of the nose, blood in the nasal mucus, nasal epidermis and mucosal erosion in Little's area was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.There was no significant difference in the measurement of the overall sensation of the nose, stuffy nose, nasal pain, dry nose, and nasal pruritus scores before treatment(P>0.05).At 1 week of treatment, the differences in the overall sensation of the nose and the dryness score of the nose between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The post-treatment differences of the overall nasal sensation, stuffy nose, nasal pain, dry nose, and nasal pruritus scores were statistically significant(P<0.05).4.The average onset time of the drug:2.42±0.17 days in the modified Zigui oil group,3.24±0.33 days in the compound peppermint oil group, and 3.87±0.38 days in the sesame oil group. The time when the three groups of drugs started to work was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Recurrence rate after 4 weeks:The recurrence rate in the treatment group A was 23.73%,the recurrence rate in the control B1 group was 56%,and the recurrence rate in the control B2 group was 53.33%.Conclusion:Modified Zigui oil has a certain clinical effect on dry rhinitis. It can improve the symptoms and signs such as dry nose and blood in the nose. The drug has a shorter time to start acting, and it can reduce the recurrence rate of the disease. There is a high value of the modified Zigui oil in clinical application.
