Observation Of The Clinical Efficacy Of Chaigui Decoction Combined With Red And Blue Light In The Treatment Of Acne Vulgaris

Objective:The study aimed at discussing the clinical efficacy and safety of Chaigui Decoction combined with red and blue light in the treatment of acne vulgaris,as well as its effect on serum IL-8 levels and dermatology life quality index(DLQI).Methods:80 cases of acne vulgaris were divided into two groups by means of random number table.40 cases of treatment group were treated with Chaigui Decoction combined with red and blue light,while 40 cases of control group were treated with red and blue light solely.After 4 weeks of treatment,the reduction rate of skin lesions was observed to determined the efficacy,and the differences in serum IL-8 levels and DLQI before and after treatment were statistically analyzed.Results:A total of 80 cases were included,of which 3 cases were lost,and 77 cases were finally completed,39 in the treatment group and 38 in the control group.Among the 77 cases,32 were males and 45 were females;the average age was(23.48±3.27)years;the average disease duration was(16.61±6.57)months;acne grade: grade I was 11.7%,grade II was 54.5%,and grade IIIwas 33.8%;DLQI: mild 3.9%,moderate 40.2%,severe 46.8%,extremely severe 9.1%.Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the general baseline of age,disease duration,gender,and disease severity between the control group and the treatment group(P>0.05).(1)Before treatment,the average GAGS score of the treatment group was(19.23±1.98)points,and the average GAGS score of the control group was(18.68±2.13)points.After treatment,the GAGS scores of both groups were lower than before(P<0.05),and the GAGS scores of the treatment groups were improved significant(P<0.05).The cure rate in the treatment group was 25.64% and the effective rate was 82.05%;control group the cure rate in the was 7.89% and the effective rate was 60.53%.(2)Before treatment,the average serum IL-8level in the treatment group was(55.59±12.71)ng/L,and the average serum IL-8 level in the control group was(54.77±13.54)ng /L.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the serum levels of IL-8 in the two groups decreased compared with the previous one(P<0.05),and the proportion of decrease in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).(3)Before treatment,the average DLQI score of the treatment group was(14.02±4.49),and the average DLQI score of the control group was(12.63±4.75).There was no difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the average DLQI scores of the control group and the treatment group were lower than before(P<0.05),and the improvement of DLQI scores of patients takingChaigui Decoction was more significant(P<0.05).Conclusion :(1)Chaigui decoction combined with red and blue light has notable efficacy and high safety in treating mild and moderate acne vulgaris.(2)Chaigui decoction combined with red and blue light can reduce serum IL-8levels;(3)Chaigui decoction combined with red and blue light can improve patients' quality of life.
