A Study On The Brics's Engagement In Global Health Governance

At the beginning of 2020,the spread of coronavirus has causes thousands of deaths around the globe.Growing globalization brings plenty of global threats to different parts of the world.In perspective of global health,people living in developing countries are currently faced with severe health problems because of the population mobility,undeveloped health facilities,essential drugs inaccessibility and poor health R&D condition.Under this circumstances,World Health Organization and other traditional multilateral global health governance mechanisms fail to efficiently response to Ebola,Zika and other global serious epidemics,which demonstrates their structural failure and the need to reform.BRICS,made up of five emerging economies(Brazil,Russia,India,China and Russia),has gradually moved from a financial-cooperating organization to a global governance multilateral organization and fosters a significant expansion of governance agendas,which including global health governance.Framing global health as development agenda and setting BRICS Health Ministers Meetings as the main official cooperative mechanism,BRICS starts to progressively be engaged in the global health governance and become a new role in global governance.This project starts with the introduction to concept of “global health governance”,then analyzes WHO's failure in response to the global health threats.Afterwards,the project compares the framing differences in global health between developed and developing countries,to introduce the BRICS's emerging engagements in global health governance.In the second part,the project will deeply presents the background,causes,common threats and structural advantages of BRICS's role in global health governance.Accordingly,the project then analyzes the five member countries' strengths.This project finally jumps to the main conclusion that BRICS will become a new emerging leading role in global health governance,and furtherly support the global efforts faced with global health threats.In short,BRICS has giant cooperative potentials in boosting global health governance.
