Background Sarcopenia is a kind of elderly syndrome with progressive decline of skeletal muscle mass and muscle strength and / or physical dysfunction. The elderly with sarcopenia are prone to fall, low bone mass and fracture. It not only has many adverse effects on the health of the elderly, but also has a huge This not only has many adverse effects on the health of the elderly, but also has a huge social and economic burden. However, the etiology of sarcopenia is unclear, the results of epidemiological investigation are different, and the awareness rate of the masses is low,but its harm needs people's attention. Therefore,it is necessary to further supplement the survey data to find out the risk factors of sarcopenia. Objective The purpose of this paper is by investigating and understanding the current situation of sarcopenia in the elderly in Xinxiang City, analyzes the relevant factors that affect the sarcopenia in the elderly,in order to take reasonable and effective interventions for medical care, prevent and delay the occurrence and development of sarcopenia, and improve the quality of life of the elderly with sarcopenia.Method In this study, convenient sampling method was adopted to recruit 1004 elderly people over 65 years old from 14 communities in Xinxiang City forquestionnaire survey and physical and physiological index measurement.Survey tools include:(1)General situation questionnaire: including age, family economic situation, previous occupation, education level and marriage status.(2)Health status questionnaire: including height, weight,BMI,waist circumference, common chronic diseases,depression(PHQ-9).(3)Lifestyle questionnaire: including smoking, drinking, diet(FFQ)and physical activity(IPAQ-s).Physical indicators measurement tools include :(1)Body composition analyzer(inbody230): measure the mass of skeletal muscle of limbs.(2)Stopwatch: measure the walking speed of 6m.(3)Hand dynamometer(Sammons Preston JAMAR+): measure the grip strength.(4)Height and weight meter(bsm-370): measure height and weight.(5)Tape measure(Deli no.8214): measure waist circumference.Whether the elderly have sarcopenia is judged according to the Asian criteria for sarcopenia(2016).The database was established by EpiData v3.1 software.SPSS 20.0statistical software was used to analyze the relevant data.Using descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, binary logistic regression analysis and other data analysis,to determine the influencing factors of myopenia in the elderly. Results 1.Epidemiological characteristics of sarcopenia in the elderly 131(13.05%)of the elderly in this study had sarcopenia.Among them,81(14.3%)were urban elderly and 50(11.5%)were rural elderly. There were significantdifferences in age, education, marital status, previous occupation, residence, monthly income, basic medical insurance and payment of medical expenses between the two groups(P < 0.05).2.The results of single factor analysis showed that the elderly with sarcopenia compared with non-sarcopenia were statistically significant differences in age, sex,BMI,smoking, staple food consumption, legume consumption, milk consumption, meat consumption, eggs consumption, physical activity and activity level, depression symptoms and osteoporosis,P< 0.05.3.In multivariate logistic regression analysis:female and age?75 years old were the risk factors of sarcopenia.BMI is the protective factor of myopenia, depression is the risk factor of sarcopenia. The staple food consumption, legume consumption, dairy consumption, meat consumption, egg consumption and middle and high level of physical activity are the protective factors of sarcopenia. The years of smoking and smoking are the risk factors of sarcopenia(P < 0.05).Conclusions The prevalence of sarcopenia in the elderly was high. The main influencing factors were female, aging,BMI,depression, osteoporosis, smoking, staple food, legume, milk, meat, egg intake and physical activity level.Health workers should take scientific and reasonable measures to helpthe elderly prevent and treat sarcopenia, reduce the incidence of sarcopenia related adverse events.
