OBJECTIVE:We collect physical examination data of the elderly for health examination, such as blood routine, biochemistry, body composition, past medical history, etc. We research the association between these items and sarcopenia,in order to mprove the society's understanding of sarcopenia and strengthen the screening of sarcopenia.METHODS:This study collected the physical data of the elderly(age?60 years old)who underwent health checkups from August 2018 to October 2018 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. In the end,a total of 168 elderly people were collected. After screening according to exclusion criteria,a total of 89 patients were enrolled in the study.According to the Asian Minisis Consensus, the bioelectrical impedance analysis(BIA)measured the skeletal muscle mass index(ASMI)as the standard for diagnosing sarcopenia. There are 16 person in sarcopenia group and 73 person in the non-sarcopenia group. With the agreement, each person was tested for 4m walking speed and grip strength.Meanwhile the body data was measured using the Inbody 720 body composition analyzer. At the same time, the general information of patients was asked in the study, including past medical history, sex, age, height, weight, body mass index(BMI),whether drinking, whether smoking or not.Professional nursing staff draws the blood of the person being inspected. Before the blood was drawn, everyone was fasted for 8 hours after dinner the night before. The next day, fasting venous blood was collected and sent to the inspection center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University for blood routine and biochemical examination. Then we picked platelet, lymphocyte indicators, albumin, uric acid,Total cholesterol,Triglyceride,Low density lipoprotein cholesterol,High density lipoprotein cholesterol and so on.The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 software. The main statistical indicators were all tested for normality.Measured data for normal distribution were expressed as mean ±standard deviation(x±s).The counting data is analyzed by chi-square test.Differences between the measurement data, which meet normally distributed, were analyzed by independent sample t test.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine potential risk factors for sarcopenia, and the 95%confidence interval did not include 1.A p value<0.05 was statistically significant.RESULTS:1.There are 19 elderly people(?80 years old),the number of patients is 9 and the prevalence rate is 47.3%.There are 70 elderly people(?60 years old and<80 years old),and there are 7 patients. The prevalence rate was 10%.There was a significant difference in the prevalence of myasthenia between the two groups. The difference was statistically significant(P=0.000<0.05).2.There was no significant correlation between sarcopenia and hypertension, diabetes and metabolic syndrome(P>0.05);There was no correlation between sarcopenia and smoking, the same to drinking habits(P value>0.05).3.The grip strength of sarcopenia group was significantly lower than that of the non-sarcopenia group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The 4m walking speed was not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).4.The BMI of the non-sarcopenia group was significantly higher than that of the sarcopenia group. The difference was statistically significant P<0.05).There was a correlation between sarcopenia and BMI;There was no correlation between sarcopenia and VFA,Human tissue protein mass(P value>0.05).5.The ALB of non-sarcopenia group was higher than that of sarcopenia group, which was statistically significant(P<0.05);6.Sarcopenia and lymphocytes were correlated, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);there was a significant correlation between sarcopenia and PLR,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).7.Multivariate logistic regression analysis found that BMI was a risk factor for sarcopenia. The lower the BMI(P=0.005<0.05,OR=0.554,95%CI:0.368?0.833),the greater the possibility of sarcopenia.IN CONCLSION:1?With the increase of age,the prevalence of sarcopenia in the elderly is higher, and there is no significant difference in the prevalence rate between male and female. There is a certain correlation between sarcopenia and BMI,ALB,LY,and PLR in the elderly. It is necessary to pay attention to the screening of the old patients with sarcopenia when they have the physical examination2?BMI is a risk factor for myasthenia in the elderly. The lower the BMI,the higher the risk of myasthenia in the elderly.
