Gender Differences Of Central Arterial Pressure In Patients With Essential Hypertension And Influence Of Menopause On Central Blood Pressure In Patients With Arterial Hypertension

Objective:To investigate the relationship between central arterial pressue related indicators and gender,menopausal in patients with essential hypertension.Methods:A total of 200 patients with essential hypertension were enrolled in the Department of Hypertension,the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from 2017 to2019.According to gender,they are divided into male group(88 cases)and female group(112 cases).According to whether they are menopausal,they are divided into menopause group(47 cases)and menopause group(65 cases).Sphygmocor pulse wave analysis system was used to measure central arterial indicators:central arterial systolic pressure(CSP),central arterial pressure diastolic pressure(CDP),central arterial pulse pressure(CPP),aortic wave enhancement index(AIx),and heart rate adjusted to 75 times of aortic wave enhancement index(AIx75)to analyze its correlation with gender and menopause.Results:The average height and weight of women are lower than those of men.Even after height adjustment,the CSP,AIx,and AIx75 of women are still higher than those of men,that is,CSP(131.13 ± 19.31 vs.125.31 ± 15.28 mmHg,P<0.05),AIx(29.49 ± 8.3 vs.18.06 ± 12.36,P<0.01),AIx75(29.04 ±7.66 vs.17.18±10.11,P<0.01).Menopausal women have higher AIx and AIx75 than non-menopausal women,that is,AIx(26.83 ± 7.82 vs.31.42 ± 8.16,P<0.01),AIx75(26.66 ± 6.84 vs.30.75±7.8,P<0.01).Conclusion:Central arterial pressure is higher in women than in men in patients with essential hypertension.Menopausal women have higher central arterial pressure than non-menopausal women.
