Objective: To investigate the effects on patients of continuous clipping and continuous opening of nephrostomy tube after percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL)on postoperative hemorrhage, fever, pain, urine leakage, nephrostomy tube retention time and postoperative hospital stay.Materials and Methods: A total of 100 patients with upper urinary calculi who were admitted to the urology center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2018 to December 2018 and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and had no significant differences in relevant preoperative indicators were divided into two groups:(A Group)patients in the clipping group nephrostomy tube were clipped until the nephrostomy tube was removed.(Group B)Patients in the open group were kept open until the nephrostomy tube was removed. The hemoglobin(Hb)decrease, fever rate, postoperative pain(visual analog scale VAS)score, analgesic requirement, urinary extravasation rate, nephrostomy tube retention time and postoperative hospital stay and other indicators were compared between two groups.Result: The comparition between two groups about the average blood loss, fever rate, changes in inflammatory indicators and electrolyte, urinary extravasation rate, perinephric fluid, nephrostomy tube retention time and postoperative hospital stay is equil(P> 0.05),while the postoperative pain(visual analog scale VAS)score and the demand for analgesics were higher than those in group B(P <0.05).Conclusion:It is safe and feasible to perform clipping and non-clipping of nephrostomy tubes in patients with indications for upper urinary calculi. And continuous opening of nephrostomy tubes can effectively reduce pain and discomfort from the puncture site. For patients with no obvious signs of urinary tract infection before the procedure, continuous clipping of thenephrostomy tube after procedure does not increase the postoperative inflammatory index and fever, nor does it increase the rate of urinary extravasation.
