Research On Long-term Care Services For Four Private Old-Age Institutions Based On Gulou District In Nanjing

Due to the dense population of Nanjing,the problem of population aging,aging advanced population and disability is intensifying.The trend of miniaturization,coreization and empty nesting of family structure is obvious,and the long-term care service demand for the elderly grows rapidly.Therefore,under the background of increasing aging population,long-term care service for disabled elderly people has become one of the most significant social problem that must be faced and solved.Aims: This study is based on the current survey of long-term care services for the aged institutions in Gulou District of Nanjing,under the background of population aging in Jiangsu Province.Understand the needs and willingness of disabled elderly people for long-term care services,then find out the problems and difficulties in long-term care services in Gulou District,Nanjing,and put forward suggestions and countermeasures that are conducive to the steady development of long-term care services for the aged institutions.Objects and Methods: The target of this research is 3 privately operated nursing homes in Gulou District,Nanjing.This study sorts and summarizes the long-term care services provided by the nursing homes in Gulou District of Nanjing by consulting the literature,field investigations and in-depth interviews.In addition,the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis are used to analyze the acquired data that is to comprehensively understand the status and problems of long-term care willingness and long-term care services for the elderly.Results:(1)The legal system for long-term care services of pension institutionsis still immature,the constraints are weak,the legal definition is not clear.There is a lack of the single-space law to carry out the formal,standardized and institutionalised management of long-term care.(2)The basic facilities for long-term care and other barrier-free facilities of the nursing homes still need further improvement.There are differences in the construction status of long-term care service facilities and the long-term care service level of old-age care institutions in Gulou District,Nanjing.(3)The elderly have limited ability to pay,and the long-term care service pays great pressure.The long-term care services enjoyed by the elderly with different economic levels are different.(4)The long-term care service project of the old-age care institution still needs to be improved,and the services of psychological comfort and nursing rehabilitation are not enough.(5)The construction of professional talents for long-term care services in old-age care institutions is in deep trouble.The quality of nursing staff is not high,the professionalism is poor,the turnover rate is high,the labor compensation is low,and the rigid reward and punishment system is lacking.(6)The funds for the privately operated institutions are tight which is difficult to develop,and it is difficult to obtain the current pension support policies.Conclusion:(1)Improve long-term care laws and regulations and policy systems(2)Raise funds through multiple channels to solve financial problems(3)Optimize the provision of long-term care services(4)Strengthen the construction of long-term care practitioners(5)Strengthen the people-oriented service concept(6)Properly establish a long-term care insurance system.
