Objective: To investigate the effect of fasting plasma glucose(FPG)on the degree of cerebrovascular stenosis in patients with ischemic stroke by cranial magnetic resonance angiography(MRA)Materials and methods: To collect the patients with ischemic stroke who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University from January 2015 to May 2018.They were older than 18 years old and had been examined by cranial MRA to determine the intracranial artery stenosis.General data of subjects included age, sex, history of hypertension, history of diabetes mellitus, history of coronary heart disease,FPG,total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C).(High density lipoprotein cholesterol,HDL-C)and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores.Imaging data included the location, number and severity of cerebral vascular stenosis shown by MRA.According to the results of MRA,the patients were divided into normal group and abnormal group.According to age,the patients were divided into <60 years old group and <60 years old group, and then divided into three subgroups: FPG < 5.6 mmol/L,FPG 5.6-7.0 mmol/L and FPG > 7.0 mmol/L.T-test and chi-square test were used for single factor analysis, binary logistic regression analysis was used to explore independent risk factors, and chi-square test was used for comparison between groups.Result: A total of 307 subjects were collected,221 in the cerebrovascular stenosis group and 86 in the normal cerebrovascular group. There were 104 cases in age group < 60 years old and 203 cases in age group < 60 years old.1.Compared with the normal group, the incidence of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease increased by chi-square test(P < 0.05);age,FPG,TC,LDL-C and NIHSS scores increased by independent sample t test(P < 0.05).2.Bivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age(B=0.024,OR=1.024)and FPG(B=0.337,OR=1.401)had significant effects on cerebrovascular stenosis.3.Among the groups grouped according to age and blood sugar level, middle cerebral artery disease was the most common artery involved in cerebrovascular stenosis. With the increase of FPG,the number and degree of cerebral vascular stenosis increased. The cerebrovascular stenosis in FPG 5.6-7.0 mmol/L group and FPG > 7.0 mmol/L group was more severe than that in FPG < 5.6 mmol/L group. The cerebrovascular stenosis in FPG > 7.0 mmol/L group was more severe than that in FPG < 5.6 mmol/L group in patients older than 60 years. Conclusion: 1.Age,hypertension,hyperlipidemia,diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease are risk factors for cerebrovascular stenosis.Among them, age and blood sugar have significant effects on cerebrovascular stenosis.2.The degree of cerebrovascular stenosis in patients with ischemic stroke increases with the increase of FPG.3.With the increase of age,the effect of FPG on the degree of cerebrovascular stenosis is relatively reduced.
