Analysis Of Risk Factors Of Recurrence And Progression Of Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

Objective: To explore the risk factors of recurrence and progression of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and determine their clinic value.Methods: Retrospective analysis of clinical case data of 323 patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer who were admitted to our hospital from January 2008 to January 2014.The gender,age,tumor size,tumor number,tumor stage,tumor grade,concurrent CIS,prior recurrence condition,tumor location and immediately intravesical instillation were supposed to be the risk factors.Survival analysis,including univariate analysis and multivariate analysis,was carried out by employing Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional hazard model.Results: The recurrence rate was 31.58%(102/323)and the average recurrence-free survival time was 15.60 months.And the progression rate was 13.62%(44/323).Univariate analysis showed that age,tumor size,tumor number,tumor stage,tumor grade,concurrent CIS,prior recurrence condition,tumor location were the risk factors associated with tumor recurrence and progression(P<0.05),as well the effect of patient's gender and immediately intravesical instillation on tumor recurrence were not significant(P>0.05).Select statistically significant factors for COX regression model multivariate analysis showed that tumor number,tumor grade,prior recurrence condition were the independent risk factors for recurrence,and tumor stage,tumor grade,prior recurrence condition were the independent risk factors for progression.Conclusion: The number of tumors,tumor grade and the prior recurrence condition are the independent risk factors for recurrence of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.as well the tumor stage,tumor grade of tumor and the prior recurrence condition are the independent risk factors for progression of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
