Objective: Use enhanced depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT)to analyze the macular choroidal thickness before and after orthokeratology in adolescents with low and moderate myopia, and investigate the changes of choroidal thickness after orthokeratology. Methods: A retrospective cases analysis was performed.64 myopia adolescents with 123 eyes who visited the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from Nov.2016 to Aug.2017 were recruited. The subjects were divided into two groups according to the degree of myopia initially:group A(low myopia:0 ~-3.00 D,70 eyes);group B(moderate myopia:-3.00~-6.00 D,53 eyes).Use enhanced depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT)to detect both groups before and 1 week,1 month,3 month,6 month,1 year after orthokeratology. This study recorded the choroidal thickness at subfoveal,1mm,2mm,3mm at nasal, temporal, superior and inferior to the fovea respectively. The difference of CT at the same position and various periods between the two groups were analyzed. Results: The CT was found significant difference in each region before and after orthokeratology of both groups(P<0.05).Significant difference was found at inferior of the fovea between the two groups(P<0.05).The choroid was thickest in the temporal regions, followed by subfovea, superior and inferior, and thinnest in the nasal side.Changes in choroidal thickness at different regions showed the most changes in the temporal and minimal changes in the nasal. There was no significant correlation between the choroidal thickness of subfovea and equivalent spherical degree(P>0.05).Conclusion: The choroidal thickness was increased after orthokeratology in both low and moderate myopia group. The choroidal thickness has regional deference and the least increase was the nasal side.
