OBJECTIVE:Using EDI-OCT technology to measure the choroidal thickness of the macular fovea and the choroidal thickness of nasal side,temporal side within 3000 um distance from the macular fovea.Collect the age,sex,refraction,axial length,intraocular pressure,height,and behavioral habits of the patients with myopia.To study variation of choroidal thickness among each group and discussthe influencing factors of choroidal thickness at the macular fovea.METHODS:Select 222 children with myopic between the average age of 10.74±2.42 years(6-16 years).Measure the height of all participants and fill in the questionnaire.Collect information such as patient’s gender,age,parent’s nearsightedness,reading and writing habits,writing habits,electronic screen usage habits,extracurricular interest activities,outdoor activity time,sleep time,etc.,and measure visual acuity,intraocular pressure,axial axis,slit lamp examination,mydriasis optometry and EDI-OCT examinations.Manually measure choroidal thickness under the macular central fovea and 13 points from the macular fovea 500 um,1000um,1500 um,2000um,2500 um,3000um of nasal and temporal sides.Independent sample t-test was used to compare differences in choroidal thickness of different sex,age,and diopter groups.Spearman bivariate correlation analysis was used to find influencing factors of choroidal thickness.Using multiple linear regression analysi to analyze the factors of macular central foveal choroidal thickness.RESULTS:All the subjects were myopia,diopters wese from-0.25 D to-7.5D,average(-2.33+ 1.42)D,axial length was from 22.25 mm to 27.27 mm,average(24.51 + 0.95)mm,IOP was from10 mm Hg to 24 mm Hg,average(15.61 + 2.55)mm Hg,height was from 1.24 m to 1.82 m,average(1.48 + 0.142)m.For men and women,the choroid thickness at the temporal 3000 um of the fovea was the thickest,with a mean value of 407.93 um,thinning from the temporal side to the nasal side.The total score of myopic risk factors is positively correlated with the absolute value of refraction.The higher the total score,the higher the myopia degree is,and there is statistical significance,p=0.001.However,there was no significant linear relationship between axial length and central foveal choroidal thickness and myopia risk score.In multiple linear regression analysis,the choroidal thickness of the macular fovea was negatively correlated with the ocular axis,and was positively correlated with height.Under the control of other conditions,The male macular fovea choroid is thicker than the female,and the choroidal thickness was not associated with age and IOP.Conclusions:1.The choroid thickness at the temporal 3000 um of the fovea was the thickest,thinning from the temporal side to the nasal side.2.The choroidal thickness of the macular fovea was negatively correlated with the ocular axis,and was positively correlated with height.Under the control of other conditions,The male macular fovea choroid is thicker than the female,and the choroidal thickness was not associated with age and IOP.
