Salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma(SACC)is one of the most common epithelial malignant tumors, which is prone to neurotropic metastasis and distant metastasis. So it is difficult to achieve good therapeutic effect. Many studies have shown that both Vimentin,E-cadherin and Cyclin D1 are closely related to the occurrence and development of tumors. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the expression of Vimentin,E-cadherin and Cyclin D1 in SACC tissues,in order to provide new procedure for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of SACC.ObjectiveThe purpose of this present study is to investigate the expression of Vimentin,Ecadherin and Cyclin D1 in SACC and analyze their correlation with SACC;and investigate the relationship between the expression of Cyclin D1,Vimentin and Ecadherin and the clinical paramaters,in order to provide a scientific basis for evaluating the prognosis of SACC and clinical diagnosis and treatment.MethodsImmunohistochmeical methods were used to investigate the expression of Vimentin,E-cadherin and Cyclin D1 in 39 cases of SACC and 10 cases with normal salivary gland.39 SACC tissue samples were grouped(gender, age, tumor size, clinical stage, nerve infiltration, case classification).Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0.The chi-square test and Fisher's exact test were used, and the Spearman rank correlation analysis was usd to detect the correction.P<0.05 was considered as standard.Results(1)Vimentin was hardly expressed in NSG tissues.28 cases were positively expressed in SACC tissues(71.79%),and there was significant difference between them(P<0.05);E-cadherin was highly expressed in NSG group(100%),in SACC tissues the expression of E-cadherin was significantly decreased, and 23 cases were positively expressed(58.97%).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Cyclin D1 was hardly expressed in NSG tissues,24 cases were positive in 39 SACC tissues(61.54%),there was significant difference between them(P<0.05);(2)The expression of Vimentin was closely related to the grad of cell differentiation and tumor size(P<0.05).but there is no relationship between the expression of Vimentin and nerve invasion(P>0.05).(3)The expression of E-cadherin was closely related to the grad of cell differentiation(P<0.05).The positive expression of E-cadherin in the salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma(30.77%)with nerve invasion was significantly lower than the tumor group without nerve invasion(73.08%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The expression of Cyclin D1 was closely related to the grad of cell differentiation(P<0.05).The positive expression of Cyclin D1 in the salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma(84.62%)with nerve invasion was significantly higher than the tumor group without nerve invasion(50.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)There was a singificant correlation between Cyclin D1 and Vimentin(P<0.05).There was a significant correlation between E-cadherin and Vimentin(P<0.05).ConclusionThis experiment studied the expression of Vimentin and Cyclin D1 in salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma was significant higher than in noraml salivary gland. While the expression of E-cadherin was lower, and found both of them have correlation with histologic differentiation. The expression of Cyclin D1 and Ecadherin was associated with nerve invasion or not.The expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin is correlated, suggesting that EMT play and important role in the precess of metatasis and progression of SACC.Combined analysis of the expression of Cyclin D1,Vimentin and E-cadherin might be useful to make the diagnosis and prognosis of SACC.
