Objective: To detect the levels of serum vitamin D(VitD)and homocysteine(Hcy)in Han,Hui and Tibetan hypertensive patients at high altitude, and to explore its correlation with hypertension. Methods: A total of 350 hypertensive patients and 300 physical examinations in the Department of Cardiology were enrolled. The patients were divided into 150 cases of Han hypertension group,100 cases of Hui hypertension group,100 cases of Tibetan hypertension group and 100 case of Han control group,100 cases of Hui control group,100 cases of Tibetan control group. The Han,Hui and Tibetan hypertension groups were divided into Han,Hui and Tibetan Grade I hypertension groups,Grade II hypertension group and Grade III hypertension group. All patients were enrolled in the venous blood on an empty stomach in the morning. The serum levels of VitD and Hcy were determined by chemiluminescence immunoassay. The automatic chemiluminescence analyzer from Siemens was used in strict accordance with the reagent instructions. The relationship between the levels of VitD and Hcy in serum was investigated. Results: The hypertension group of each group was comparable with the control group. The general data such as age, gender were P>0.05.(1)Serum VitD [(12.41±4.22)ng/ml],Hcy [(21.45±7.66)ng/ml] in the Han hypertension group, and serum VitD [(10.81±3.59)ng/ml],Hcy[(22.51±9.40)ng/ml] in the Hui hypertension group and Serum VitD [(12.63±4.38)ng/ml],Hcy [(22.19±6.17)ng/ml] in Tibetan hypertension group were significantly different from VitD[(22.83±6.08 ? 22.63±5.01 ? 23.01±5.37)ng/ml],Hcy[(12.53±3.80? 13.25±3.23? 13.13±3.25)ng/ml] in the corresponding control group(P<0.05).(2)Serum VitD levels in the Hui hypertension group were significantly lower than those in the Han and Tibetan hypertension groups(P<0.05).(3)The serum Hcy level of patients with hypertension in Han,Hui and Tibetan increased with the increase of blood pressure level. Conclusion: This study shows that the levels of serum VitD and Hcy in Han,Hui and Tibetan are closely related to hypertension. There was a significant difference in serum VitD levels between Hui hypertensive patients and Han,Tibetan hypertensive patients.Serum Hcy levels were positively correlated with blood pressure levels in Han,Hui and Tibetan hypertension patients.
