With the promotion of children's all-round development work,the development of children's social emotional competence has attracted more and more attention.Social emotional competence refers to the social and emotional competence that can help children cope more effectively with the challenges and grow up in social environment.Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)have defects in social emotional competence.The aim of this study is to investigate the social emotional competence of children with ASD aged 3-6 years and their differences from typical developmental children.Find out whether children's own,parental and family factors are relevant to children's social emotional competence.This study used the Preschool Behavior and Emotion Rating Scale,the Family Parenting Environment Questionnaire for Children 3-6 years old,the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale,and the Children and Family Basics Questionnaire.Investigate 124 parents of children aged 3-6 years with ASD from Shanghai,Guangdong,Shandong,etc.,and 968 parents of children aged 3-6 years.And interview 8 parents whose children aged 3-6 years old with ASD.It was found that is no significant difference between age and gender groups on the social emotional competence of children with ASD aged 3-6.The strength index is significantly lower than that of typical developmental children aged 3-6,the scores of emotional regulation,school readiness,social confidence and family involvement subscales are significantly lower than typical developmental children aged 3-6.We found the severity of the disorders influenced the social emotional competence;the sleep condition influenced children's social confidence competence.The children's communication competence influenced social emotional competence.Parental educational background influenced the social emotional competence of children with ASD.The higher education level of both the father and mother,the better of the scores on strength index.The higher education level of the primary care-givers,the better of the scores on SR subscales.The level of the parental understanding of the children's communication was positively associated with children's scores on strength index.The more time of parent-child interaction,the higher the strength index of the social emotional competence of children with ASD.Parental mental health and family parenting environments were positively associated with the children's scores on strength index.Other factors,such as residency,family annual income also influenced the scores of the children with ASD on strength index.Multivariate regression analysis found that the severity of the disorders,the way children communication,the level of the parental understanding of the children's communication,parental mental health have the significant influences on the strength index of social emotional competence of the children with ASD.In addition,through case studies,it is found that co-cultivation and parental supportive coping styles also influence the social emotional competence of children with ASD.The result suggests that parents to improve their parenting competence and participation level,adjust their mentality,create a good family parenting environment for children.The kindergartens and institutions to improve quality,strengthen the cooperation with family.The government and society increase economic support,professional support and mental health support for ASD children's parents and families.
