With the accelerated trend of population aging in China, the health status of the rural elderly population is a realistic problem that our country urgently needs to face. The rural primary medical and health service system undertakes the important mission of providing health care and health security for rural residents. However,in the face of the increasing demand for medical services for the elderly in rural areas, the government has deviated from the theoretical and practical aspects of medical service supply.Based on the current situation of rural medical service utilization in Jialing District of Nanchong City,Sichuan Province, this paper makes an empirical analysis using the questionnaire data of rural areas in Jialing District of Nanchong City in 2018,and summarizes some countermeasures to improve the utilization of medical services, which has important practical significance for improving the current situation of rural medical service utilization and improving the health of rural elderly residents. On the basis of combing the relevant research at home and abroad, combining the current situation of medical and health system development and health service supply in Jialing District, and based on the field survey data of 5 towns and10 villages in different directions in rural areas of Jialing District, this paper makes an empirical analysis through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis,multi-classification ordered logit regression and multiple linear regression.Research shows that in self-assessment,the number of chronic diseases is positively correlated with health self-assessment index.Income self-assessment is not significant, but the growth of household expenditure will significantly increase the health pressure of respondents.Age,education, marriage, the number of children, smoking, drinking and insurance had no significant impact, while gender was the most significant factor in the control variables. In terms of satisfaction with medical services, only income has a significant negative regression coefficient, and whether self-treatment is significant negative. In terms of one-year medical expenses, the number ofchronic diseases is positively correlated with the number of chronic diseases, and whether to carry out chronic treatment is negatively correlated. From this,we can draw some conclusions: preventive health care, reducing the cost of self-treatment,increasing the reimbursement intensity and scope of medical insurance, caring for the health of rural elderly women, speeding up the implementation of graded diagnosis and treatment system, and increasing the supply of primary medical services are very important.Based on this, this paper puts forward several countermeasures and suggestions:(1)improve the supply capacity of primary health care services;(2)promote the reform of medical insurance payment system;(3)rationally allocate the structure of medical resources;(4)strengthen the health awareness of the elderly;(5)enrich the grass-roots health personnel.
