Objectives To investigate the correlation ship between the serum level of Hs-CRP(Hypersensitive C-reactive protein)and SAA(Serum amyloid protease A)and type 2 diabetes with the depression status in older adults. Methods 1 186 elderly patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes combined with the depression status were collected as the Case Group among the geriatric and endocrinology departments in the affiliated hospital of North China University of Science and Technology from November 2017 to November 2018.And another 186 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes without depression were selected as the Control Group.Basic data including gender, smoking history, drinking history, present medical history and past medical history were comparatively analyzed.2 For two groups, the indexes analysis of age, course of the disease, complications, blood routine, fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting insulin(FINS),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),Hs-CRP,SAA and blood biochemical was carried on.Analyze the relationship between Hs-CRP and SAA levels and type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with depression in the elderly.3.According to the self-rating depression scale, the Case Group was divided into three sub-group,45 cases of mild depression,73 cases of moderate depression and 68 cases of severe depression, and correspondingly evaluated the differences of Hs-CRP and SAA levels. Results 1 In the comparison of general data, the index deference of gender, smoking history, drinking history, history of cerebral infarction, hypertension history, and history of coronary heart disease for both groups showed no statistical significance(P > 0.05).2 The index deference of white blood cells(WBC),percentage of neutrophils(NEU%),alanine transaminase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and hemoglobin(HGB)hemoglobin for Case Group and Control Group has no statistical significance(P > 0.05).Apparently,these indexes of the Case Group are significantly higher than that of the Control Group, and their differences has statistical significance(P < 0.05).The mean values of hs-CRP and SAA in the overall population for two groups were 4.1 and 8.9,respectively.The values of Hs-CRP and SAA were greater than the mean of OR value, which indicates the exposure.Hs-CRP and SAA were associated with the occurrence of type 2 diabetes depression in the elderly(OR were equal to 6.06 and 5.04,respectively).Furthermore,the higher of both indexes values, the greater of the risk.As shown from the multivariate Logistic regression analysis,Hs-CRP and SAA were independent risk factors for type 2 diabetes with depression in the elderly, because of the OR values were 4.487 and 4.140,respectively,additionally,all P values are less than 0.05.3 From the results of three groups with different depression, the Hs-CRP and SAA levels of the mild depression group were significantly lower than that of the moderate-tosevere and the severe depression groups(P < 0.05).And the values of the moderate-tosevere depression group were also lower than that of the severe depression group(P < 0.05).The OR value of the control group was set as 1,and Hs-CRP and SAA greater than mean value of OR indicates exposure. Then, the Hs-CRP and SAA were correlated with the depression degree of type 2 diabetes in the elderly. The depression degree of type 2 diabetes patients in the elderly increased with increasing the levels of Hs-CRP and SAA.Conclusions 1 The level of Hs-CRP and SAA is closely related to the occurrence of depression for type 2 diabetes in the elderly. And the higher of the Hs-CRP and SAA levels are,the greater of depression risk for type 2 diabetes is.2 The level of Hs-CRP and SAA is related to the depression degree of type 2 diabetes in the elderly.Figure 0;Table 9;Reference 188.
