Objective: To explore dynamic change of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS)and its relationship with the severity and outcome of AIS.Method: Cinical data of 96 patients with AIS and 32 healthy normal subjects, who got treated in Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology from April 2018 to December 2018,were collected.According to the time interval between stroke onset and blood sampling, patients with AIS were divided into three subgroups: 1-3d group,4-7d group and 8-14 d group. The percentages of lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood were examined by flow cytometry. The dynamic change of lymphocyte subsets and its relationship with the severity and outcome of AIS were analyzed.Result: After the onset of AIS,the percentages of peripheral blood T lymphocyte,CD4+ helper/inducible T lymphocyte(Th)and CD8+ suppressor/cytotoxic T lymphocyte(Ts)in lymphocyte was significantly lower than those of control group(P < 0.05),and were negatively correlated with the severity and long-term outcome of AIS.Conclusion: Peripheral blood T lymphocyte%,CD4+ helper/inducible T lymphocyte(Th)% and CD8+ suppressor/cytotoxic T lymphocyte(Ts)% in peripheral blood of patients with AIS decreased significantly after the onset of AIS,and may have potential to be used as biological predictors of severity and and long-term prognosis of AIS.
