Frailty and osteoporosis are two common geriatric diseases. As age increases, the incidence of frailty and osteoporosis increases gradually. Both of them are related to old age, weight loss, malnutrition, cognitive decline, falls, fractures and other factors. They share common pathogenesis factors, such as hormones, chronic inflammation, immune disorders, etc, and they influence and promote each other.Through early identification and intervention, such as nutritional support, physical exercise, antiosteoporosis drugs, etc, the prevalence of frailty can be reduced and the occurrence of osteoporosis fractures can be reduced and prevented.Future research is expected to improve the social understanding of frailty in the elderly, further study the causal relationship between frailty and osteoporosis, strengthen the management of frailty and osteoporosis patients,so as to effectively improve the quality of life of this group of people and reduce the social and family economic burden. |
