Measuring Choroidal Thickness In Pregnant Women With Enhanced Depth Imaging Optical Coherence Tomography

Objective To evaluate the changes of choroidal thickness during pregnancy and different parts of choroidal thickness with enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography.Methods Retrospective randomized controlled study.20 age-matched healthy women（20eyes）and 20 healthy pregnant women（20 eyes）in their third trimester were involved in this research.The pregnant women were selected by computer in the 32^th week of pregnancy and measured in the 36^th week.Choroid thickness is measured at 5 points（fovea,3000μm nasal,temporal,up and down to the fovea）by optical coherence tomography（OCT）in the healthy pregnant women and the healthy women during 2:00-4:00 pm.Results The choroidal thicknesses of the healthy women were less than the pregnant group at these 4 points:fovea,temporal,up,down were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusions Choroidal thickness was found partily thickened during pregnancy.
