Objective:To explore and analyze the curative effect of hollow screw and internal fixation for posterior ankle fracture. Methods:A comprehensively analysis was performed on patients with internal fixation with hollow screw from June 2016 to March 2018,the intraoperative blood loss, operation,Antibiotic duration, hospital stays and score of AOFAS 12 months after surgery of two methods were compared. The internal fixation, there were 10 males and 16 females,The average age ranges from 16 to 60.The hollow screw, there were 11 males and 23 females,The average age ranges from 18 to 70.All patient with medical records were closed fracture. All of them were treated with open reduction hollow screw within 7 to 14 days after injury. Results:Patients were followed up for12 to 24 months after surgery, and the postoperative recovery status of all patients was assessed by the American ankle surgery association. All of them were free of infection and bone nonunion. All of them reached the standard of clinical healing after surgery, its function has recovered well. There was no significant difference in AOFAS ankle-hind foot score 12 months after surgery between the steel plate group and the cannulated screw group, with no statistical significance(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in operation time between the plate group and the screw group(P>0.05).The duration of antibiotic use in the screw group was significantly shorter than that in the plate group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The amount of bleeding in the screw group was significantly lower than that in the plate group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The length of stay in the screw group was significantly shorter than that in the steel plate group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:There was no significant difference in the operative time between the steel plate group and the hollow screw group in the ankle-posterior foot score standard of the American association of foot and ankle surgeons(AOFAS)12 months after surgery, with no statistical significance. Both of them can get good clinical effect. In the hollow screw group, the blood loss, duration of antibiotic use,and length of hospital stay were significantly shorter than that of the steel plate group, with significant difference.
