Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture during Chenshi on the circadian rhythm of non-dipper blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension and its mechanism, and to provide a safe and effective acupuncture treatment for clinical treatment of non-dipper hypertension. Methods: 68 patients with non-dipper essential hypertension were randomly divided into two groups.35 cases in control group were treated by oral levoamlodipine maleate tablets in the morning.33 cases in treatment group were treated by acupuncture during ChenShi(7:00-9:00am.)on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The consulting room blood pressure,24-hour ambulatory blood pressure, and the contents of serum melatonin(MT),serotonin(5-HT)and cortisol(COR)were measured before and after treatment.Results:1.Intra-group comparison in two groups: there were statistical differences in the systolic and diastolic blood pressure between before and after treatment in two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, there were statistical differences in systolic and diastolic blood pressure between the two groups(P< 0.05).The total effective rate of anti-hypertensive efficacy was 76% in treatment group and 54% in control group. There was statistical difference in anti-hypertensive efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05).2.Intra-group comparison in two groups: there were statistical differences in the 24hASBP、DASBP、DADBP、NASBP between before and after treatment in two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, there were statistical differences in 24hASBP、DASBP、DADBP、NASBP between the two groups(P<0.05).3.Intra-group comparison in two groups: there were statisticaldifferences in MT and 5-HT between before and after treatment in two groups(P < 0.05).Intra-group comparison in two groups: there was no statistical difference in COR between before and after treatment in two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, there were statistical differences in MT and 5-HT between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, there was no statistical difference in COR between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.The treatment group and the control group can reduce the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in patients with non-dipper type hypertension. The anti-hypertensive efficacy of the treatment group is better than that of the control group.2.The treatment group and the control group can reduce 24 hASBP,DASBP,DADBP and NASBP in patients with non-dipper hypertension. The efficacy of reducing 24 hASBP,DASBP,DADBP and NASBP in the treatment group is better than that in the control group.3.The treatment group and the control group can increase the level of MT and reduce the level of 5-HT in patients with non-dipper hypertension. The effect of the treatment group on increasing the level of MT and reducing the level of 5-HT is better than that of the control group. There was no statistical difference in COR level between the two groups.
