Object: To observe the effect of acupuncture on blood pressure circadian rhythm in patients with non-dipper type essential hypertension. Methods: Sixty-six patients with non-dipper type essential hypertension who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups: 31 patients in the treatment group(with 2 cases of fall off),30 patients in the control group(with 3 cases of fall off). The control group was treated with western medicine alone. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture at the time of application(15-17 pm)on the basis of the control group. The course of treatment was 4 weeks.24-hour ambulatory blood pressure, blood pressure circadian rhythm,TCM syndrome score, melatonin(MT)and serotonin(5-HT)was used as an indicator to analyze the effect of acupuncture on blood pressure circadian rhythm in patients with non-dipper type essential hypertension.Results:1.24-hour average systolic blood pressure(24hASBP),24-hour average diastolic blood pressure(24hADBP),daytime average systolic blood pressure(DASBP),daytime average diastolic blood pressure(DADBP),nighttime average systolic blood pressure(NASBP),nighttime average diastolic blood pressure(NADBP)were lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The nighttime average systolic blood pressure after treatment in the treatment group was compared with the control group and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.There were statistical differences in the blood pressure circadian rhythm between before and after treatment in two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, the difference in blood pressure circadian rhythm between the twogroups was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The TCM syndrome scores of the two groups were decreased after treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the TCM syndrome scores of the treatment group decreased more significantly(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the treatment group was 90.3%,which was higher than 66.7%of the control group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the treatment group was superior to the control group in improving symptoms such as dizziness, headache, irritable irritability and insomnia(P<0.05).4.The MT and 5-HT levels in the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the MT and 5-HT levels in the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Shenshi acupuncture combined with oral levamlodipine maleate and oral levamlodipine maleate can reduce 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and regulate blood pressure circadian rhythm. The effect of the former is better than the latter in improving the nighttime average systolic blood pressure and regulating blood pressure circadian rhythm.2.Shenshi acupuncture combined with oral levamlodipine maleate and oral levamlodipine maleate can reduce TCM syndrome scores. The efficacy of Shenshi acupuncture combined with oral levamlodipine maleate is better than oral levamlodipine maleate. The effect of the former in improving dizziness, headache, irritable irritability and insomnia is better than the latter.3.Shenshi acupuncture combined with oral levamlodipine maleate and oral levamlodipine maleate can increase the level of MT and reduce the level of 5-HT in patients with non-dipper hypertension. The effect of the former on increasing the level of MT and reducing the level of 5-HT is better than the latter.
