Objective:To investigate the debilitating status of elderly hospitalized patients andthe correlation between frailty and depressive symptoms.Methods:Cross-sectional study,158 patientswho were admitted to the geriatric ward of Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital affiliated to Qingdao University Medical College from 2018-01 to 2018-08,using the Fried Weakness Assessment Form,it was divided into non-frailty(68 cases),pre-frailty(42 cases),and frailty(48 cases).and collected general clinical data, including age, gender, marital status, education level, body mass index, disease and medication types, using the mini-mental state examination(MMSE)to assess the cognitive function.Depressive status of elderly patients were assessed using theeriatric Depression Scale(GDS-15).Depression was observed with a score of ?6.SPSS 23.0 software was used to analyze the influencing factors of frailty status. The count data was described by frequency and percentage;the analysis of counting data was performed by ?2 test;the comparision of grade data was performed by nonparametric test.Multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors affecting frailty. Results:A total of 158 patients were enrolled in the study, the number of non-frailty,pre-frailty and frailty were 68,42,48.The incidence of frailty was 30.38%.The single factor analysis showed that the age, education level, number of diseases, and the number of medications were statistically significant for the frailty(P<0.05).In the depression state, the distribution of the debilitating group and the debilitating group was statistically significant(P<0.05).The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that depressive status was a risk factor for pre-frailty in elderly hospitals, depressive stausand advanced age were risk factors for frailty(P<0.05).Conclusion:The incidence of frailty in elderly hospitalized patients is higher, the status quo is not optimistic, and is affected by other factors, among which advanced age and depression are risk factors for frailty, and depression is risk factor for pre-frailty.
