| Objective: To detect the level of plasma Periostin in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis patients, and to explore its correlation with thyroglobulin antibody(TgAb)and thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb).Methods: 47 patients with Hashimoto thyroiditis in the Department of Endocrinology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were selected as the Hashimoto group, and 31 healthy persons in the physical examination center of the hospital were selected as the healthy control group(control group). We measured the levels of plasma periostein by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The levels of plasma TgAb,TPOAb,TSH,FT3 and FT4 were determined by electrochemiluminescent immunoassay. In addition,we investigated the relationship between plasma periostein and clinical indicators. Results: There was significant difference in the level of periostein between HT and healthy controls(P=0.005,P<0.05).The level of plasma periostein in HT was higher than that in healthy controls. Moreover, periostein was positively correlated with TgAb and TPOAb,negatively correlated with FT3,and correlated with gender, but not with age,BMI,TSH and FT4.Multivariate regression analysis showed that TPOAb was an independent correlative factor of plasma periostein level. Conclusion: Periostein may participate in the immune response of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is related to the occurrence and development of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and affects the level of TPOAb. |
