Objective and significance : Through systematic collation and analysis of homeopathy in TCM,this paper explores the historical origin of homeopathy,and summarizes the application of homeopathy by the four masters of epidemi c febrile disease in the Qing Dynasty at all levels of prescription and medicine,so as to provide reference for better understanding of homeopathy in TCM today,with a view to contributing to guiding clinical improvement of syndrome differentiation and treatment system.Method:1.Based on the TCM classics,through reviewing the relevant information of homeopathy on homeopathic remedies,systematically combing the historical origin of TCM homeopathy,collates the records of homeopathy in “NeiJing” and “ShangHan”.2.Taking the four masters of epidemic febrile disease in the Qing Dynasty as the core,combing,analyzing and summarizing,and refining the four masters of epidemic febrile disease using the inheritance,innovation and expansion of homeopathy.Conclusion:1.Homeopathy stemed from Taoist philosophy,starting with “Nei Jing”,officially as a medical concept on the historical stage.“Shang Han” is an important symbol of clinical practicality of homeopathy in traditional Chinese medicine.The six-meridian pattern identification and the visceral pattern identification Zhongjing's theory have their own characteristics.When the disease is about to be solved,it is the opportunity of homeopathy.2.Ye Tianshi,Xue Shengbai,Wu Jutong and Wang Mengying differentiate and treat diseases according to their characteristics.3.Epidemiologists in Qing Dynasty had unique advantages and characteristics in the application of homeopathy.4.In this paper,we discuss the general question of homeopathy in modern times,and draw the following conclusions: different meanings of homeopathy and homeopathy aim at different diseases and different medicines;the essence of homeopathy in traditional Chinese medicine is different from that in Western medicine.
