Clinical Effectiveness Of Baitou Weng Tang In The Treatment Of Acute Radiation Proctitis (Flre Damp Heat Syndrome)

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Baitou Weng Tang and retention enema on Acute Radiation Proctitis(ARP)(fire damp heat syndrome),to explore its role in improving clinical symptoms and laboratory and examination indicators of acute radiation proctitis,;To provides a reference for the theoretical and clinical application of the traditional Chinese medicine treatment for ARP.Methods:In this study,74 patients with ARP who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the treatment medicine group and the control group by randomized controlled,single-blind,single-center prospective study.both groups were given the necessary rehydration,nutritional intervention and other Western medicine treatment.The treatment group was given the enema of Baitou Weng Tang and the infusion,while the control group was given dexamethasone,montmorillonite powder retention enema.The treatment was performed for 14 days,and both groups were enema daily,and the therapeutic effect was evaluated after one course of treatment.TCM symptoms,intestinal reactions,changes in serum CRP values,fecal occult blood,intestinal mucosal repair,and quality of life were evaluated before and after treatment.Results:At the end of the study,a total of 71 effective cases were obtained.There were 3 cases removed,2 cases of treatment group and 1 case of control group.1?There was no significant difference in general conditions(age,gender,disease type),quality of life(KPS)score,intestinal response score,serum CRP value and TCM symptom between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05);2?The total efficiency of 94.2% in the treatment group was better than the total effective rate in the control group of 88.9%(P<0.05);3?Two groups in the rectal microscopic examination of mucosal injury,intestinal response evaluation,serum CRP value changes,TCM symptoms etc.can be seen improved,the difference Statistical significance(P<0.05);comparison between groups showed that the efficacy of the Chinese medicine group was better than the control group(P<0.05).4?The fecal occult blood test: both groups of drugs can effectively alleviate the occult blood of patients with stool(P <0.05);and the difference between the two groups of drugs was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).Conclusion:By observing the clinical efficacy of Baitou Weng Tang in the treatment of acute radiation proctitis(fire damp heat syndrome),it was concluded that: Baitou Weng Tang and retention enema to treat acute heat and proctitis of damp heat and fire type compared with western medicine of control group have better therapeutic effects,not only improve the efficiency of treatment,but also improve the clinical symptoms of acute abdominal radiation,.Intestinal mucosal damage improves the quality of life of patients and no significant toxicity has been found.
