Objective:The levels of FeNO and serum periostin in asthmatic patients were measured to describe.1.The distribution of serum periostin levels at different levels of FeNO in adults with airway hyperresponsiveness;2.Whether there is a relationship between the level of FeNO and the concentration of serum periostin;3.To explore the relationship between serum periostin,FeNO and lung function?FEV1/pred MEF50/pred?.Methods:In this study, sixty patients aged between sixteen and sixty-seven were randomly selected from the second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, and twenty healthy subjects with negative bronchial provocation test were selected as the control group. The levels of FeNO and serum periostin were measured, and pulmonary function, body mass index?BMI?,and all procedures?lung function tests,FeNO,BMI and blood samples?were recorded on the same day.Results:1.Among the sixty bronchial asthma patients who met the criteria of admission, twenty asthma patients were divided into three groups according to the FeNO value range of the American Thoracic Association:<25ppb,FeNO middle value group:25-50ppb,Feno high value group:>50ppb),according to the range of values of FeNO of American Thoracic Association[1].The mean concentration of serum periostin in asthmatic group was?0.59±0.65?ng/mL,.The mean concentration of serum periostin in the control group was?0.49±0.78?ng/mL,.There was no significant difference between the asthmatic group and the control group.2.In the sixty asthmatic patients, the serum periostin concentrations in the low, middle and high groups were?0.40±0.33?ng/mL,?0.48±0.51?ng/mL,?0.88±0.9?ng/mL,There was no significant difference between the three groups and the control group.3.Comparison of serum periostin concentrations in different groups of asthma patients. The concentration of serum periostin in low value of FeNO group was significantly lower than that in high group?P<0.05?.4.The overall level of FeNO in the patients with asthma was positively correlated with the serum periostin.?r=0.280,P=0.030<0.05?.5.There was a positive correlation between the level of FeNO and pulmonary function FEV1/pred,MEF50/prd in the high-value group of asthma?P<0.05?,There was statistical significance?P<0.05?.6.There was a positive correlation between the whole serum periostin concentration and pulmonary function FEV1/pred,MEF50/prd in asthma group, but there was no statistical significance.7.There was a positive correlation between the level of FeNO and body mass index?BMI?in the high FeNO group of asthma?r=0.486,P=0.030<0.05?,there was statistical significance.Conclusion:1.The total FeNO level was positively correlated with the serum periostin, indicating that the FeNO level was correlated with the serum periostin, both of which were associated with eosinophils.2.There was a positive correlation between the level of FeNO and body mass index?BMI?of lung function FEV1/pred,MEF50/prd,in the high value group of asthma FeNO,which indicated that the increase of FeNO level could cause the decrease of lung function and the level of FeNO was affected by body mass index?BMI?.
