The Development?Application Of Inpatients Personality Disorders Screening Questionnaire

Objective:To develop a short personality disorders screening questionnaire for the Chinese population in hospitals,to test its validity and reliability,.to realize application of the questionnaire in clinical departments,to explore the dignity status and influencing factors of the personality disorder patients,laying a preliminary basis for the individualized clinical treatments and the intervention of the future study.Methods:A number of doctors and nurses in charge of the testing hospitals,psychiatrists in specialized psychiatric hospitals,and graduate students in the department of psychiatry and psychology were surveyed and interviewed with open questionnaires.Reorganizing the investigation and interview records,representative and universal items was retained,and some items was formed.Experienced well-known domestic psychiatrists,psychologists and hospital management experts were invited to repeatedly discuss the questionnaire contents,and some nurses and patients from the hospital were invited to evaluate the readability of the content,modify the syntax and wording of the items,and delete the items with ambiguous expressions.Two tests were conducted at three local general hospitals of different levels.Inpatients Personality Disorders Screening Questionnaire(IPDSQ)was developed according to the diagnostic criteria for personality disorders in ICD-10.The questionnaire was developed by item analysis,exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis,and validity and reliability were examined.The reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated.We used the questionnaire,PDQ-4+,in 280 patients and recycled 272 effective questionnaires.We then conducted descriptive statistics,correlation analysis.Results:The whole questionnaire was composed of 31 items and 8 factors including the paranoid,the emotionally unstable,and the histrionic.The Cronbach's Alpha of the whole scale was 0.835,the split reliability of the whole scale was 0.809,the retest reliability of the whole scale was 0.83.The result of confirmatory factory analysis indicated that eight extraction factors fit well with conceptual model.All dimensions and total scores were significantly positively correlated with pdq-4+ and significantly negatively correlated with the simple coping style scale,and the differences were statistically significant(p<0,01).The scores of non-psychiatric inpatients and psychiatric inpatients were compared,and the difference was statistically significant(t=9.83 P<0.01).The scores of non-psychiatric inpatients were significantly lower than those of psychiatric inpatients,and Inpatients Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire had a good ability to distinguish between them.Conclusion:The Inpatients Personality Disorders Screening Questionnaire has good reliability and validity,it can screening patients preliminary with personality disorder in all departments rapidly and effectively.
