Case Reports And Brief Reviews On Implant Rehabilitation For Edentulous,partial Edentulous And Maxillary Defects Patients

The aim of this study was to discuss how to choose treatment plan for edentulous and partial edentulous patients.For such patients,conventional dentures face problems such as poor retention and low mastication efficiency.The dental implant-supported removable partial/complete dentures,fixed dentures and prostheses are available for the patients who are looking for a better solution.In the present study,we recruited five edentulous or partial edentulous patients including one patient with maxillary defect who chose different treatment plans according to the patients’ general health,oral condition and their own desire in order to achieve a satisfied long-term effect.Locator attachment is widely used in implant-supported overdentures since it is easy to handle for both clinical dentists and dental technicians.In this review,we discussed advantages and disadvantages of Locator attachment,and should pay attention on the clinical application.Furthermore,we will briefly describe the application of Locator attachment in the prosthesis of jaw defects.
